[It's about midday when Shayera turns on the comm, sitting in the comforts of her suite in the Earth Sector. Her expression is her default serious, and her overall demeanor shows she means business, despite feeling a tad unusual about making a public appearance that's not in person. But that aside, she knows that she has something that needs to be said, and a little awkwardness isn't going to stop her.] My name is Shayera Hol. Most of you probably don't know me, but that's not the point here. I'm here to talk about training for self-defense in battle.

[She leans back in her chair to get comfortable, arms crossed as she speaks.] I know there's been a few other posts about this, but having more offers doesn't hurt things. A-- [There's a brief hesitation as she decides which word best describes Kyle. He said family, but... she never agreed to that.] friend of mine brought it to my attention that there are people here who need to know how to fight. There's things here that can kill, and people should be prepared to defend themselves against them should the need arise. I'm a pretty competent fighter, so don't worry about me knowing what I'm doing.

[Then there's the fact that there's teenagers here, and they're really going to need help unless they have some form of fighting on their own.] Even if you have your own powers or whatnot, knowing how to fight is still crucial. I'd be willing to help anybody out, so just give me a call, or come to my apartment, EA-2C. I'll be starting the lessons in a couple of weeks, if nothing unexpected pops up.

[Once that's been taken care of, she fixes up a filter to the two Kyle told her about.] The little ball of sunshine told me about you two in particular needing training, so don't expect to get out of it. If you've got any questions, feel free to drop by.

[He's doing pretty well after his first day, here. So when he smiles this time, it's bright, and definitely flirty.]

I could probably use some brushing up on a few things. I wouldn't want to take any of your time away from other people, but since you're offering...

[Well, if they're going for flirty...] I can always find room for some private lessons, if that's what you're looking for. [Despite the very obvious flirting, she does genuinely give him the offer.]

I could use private lessons. [He smirks.] But do you also spar? Maybe we could show each other our skills.

[He'd love to spar with someone, so it's both a double entendre and an acceptance of an offer, along with an offer of his own.]

I can arrange those. [She smirks right back at him.] I do, and I wouldn't mind having another sparring partner. It could help me keep up on my own skills. [She's already gotten a few from this alone.]

Good to know someone is on the ball with this. [Aw yeah. Well, not aw yeah, but aw yeah.] Can't have too many sparring partners! Everyone gets to teach you something new, and vice versa.

I probably wouldn't be, to be honest, if Kyle hadn't asked me to do this. Especially since he already got me two students. [Kyle why.] So far, you're my third sparring partner. Once again.

Kyle seems to be a pretty persuasive kind of guy, when it comes to... everything. [He laughs.] Wait, once again? Do you mean young me?

Persuasive? [She scoffs.] More like pushy. [Wait, young him.] No, I meant you came in third for me again. There's a younger version of you here? [These universes are going to kill her.]

I can be pretty pushy, too, as a forewarning. [Wait, what?] You didn't know? I thought it was common knowledge, now. Yeah, there's a little Dick around. Not exactly like me, but from some other universe.

What a surprise, so can I. [Everyone here seems to have an iron will.] I've only been here for a little over a month, and when we first talked, that was my first time meeting you. I never knew about a younger you. [She is praying she'll never meet a younger version of herself from another universe.]

[He likes that. Yup.] Lucky me, I get to tell you about it. He's a younger me, but I don't remember being that bratty?

[Or that ridiculously smart, if he's being honest.] Good kid, though, from what I've heard from everyone else.

[This makes her think of something.] Are we talking teenager young here? Because I've already met a younger Wally. [What is it with all the brats around.

Yup, I talked to the younger Wally, too. Apparently younger me and younger Wally are friends, so, they got that right in their universe, at least.

I hope no other kid versions of people are going to pop up. I'm starting to miss the older ones enough as it is.

Same. Don't tell them, but same. I'd... love to see some of my friends, here. Not that they're not, but... differently. There's the younger, the older, and then my group. Right in the middle. I wish they were here.

It's the whole different universe thing again, isn't it? I know how you feel. I'm the only one from mine, too. The people here are similar to my friends back, but... it's just not the same, is it?

It is... and it isn't. [He makes a face.] That doesn't make much sense. It's the whole different universe, deal, because... yeah, it's not the same. They're them, but not the ones that we know.

[And he gives a small smile.] But I also mean... a lot of the people here are friends of my. [He falters for a moment.] Friends of people who are like parents to me. And then there are the people here from home that are friends of my younger brother. None of the middle ground people.

Trust me, that part makes perfect sense to me. [She is the only one from her universe here.]

That's pretty much how I've been feeling around people I... "know" since I got here. [There's a slightly sad smile from her end.] Even surrounded by familiar people, it's not like it was before.

[He smiles back.] It's all kind of strange. But I'm happy that I get to meet some of them, anyway. And meet people from my world, or a world like mine, that I might not ever get to meet otherwise. I mean, look at us! We're two same but different universe people, out on the make, like this is completely normal.

I've yet to meet people I didn't know, or hadn't heard of in universe. So I guess I have mixed feelings on it. It just makes it a little harder when... they don't know the things I do. [And considering her past, it's a major blow to the feeling of familiarity.] I think with the kind of worlds we live in, it's hard to really be surprised by anything.

[He nods.] These are reasons why drinking was discovered as a helpful tool.

[Ah, drinking. She simply sighs, shaking her head.] Despite how much I'd love to go drinking, I can't afford to have too much in case something comes up. Call me overly cautious, but that's what my job's done for me.

Now I have no idea how you're supposed to deal with all of this, then!
