[It's about midday when Shayera turns on the comm, sitting in the comforts of her suite in the Earth Sector. Her expression is her default serious, and her overall demeanor shows she means business, despite feeling a tad unusual about making a public appearance that's not in person. But that aside, she knows that she has something that needs to be said, and a little awkwardness isn't going to stop her.] My name is Shayera Hol. Most of you probably don't know me, but that's not the point here. I'm here to talk about training for self-defense in battle.

[She leans back in her chair to get comfortable, arms crossed as she speaks.] I know there's been a few other posts about this, but having more offers doesn't hurt things. A-- [There's a brief hesitation as she decides which word best describes Kyle. He said family, but... she never agreed to that.] friend of mine brought it to my attention that there are people here who need to know how to fight. There's things here that can kill, and people should be prepared to defend themselves against them should the need arise. I'm a pretty competent fighter, so don't worry about me knowing what I'm doing.

[Then there's the fact that there's teenagers here, and they're really going to need help unless they have some form of fighting on their own.] Even if you have your own powers or whatnot, knowing how to fight is still crucial. I'd be willing to help anybody out, so just give me a call, or come to my apartment, EA-2C. I'll be starting the lessons in a couple of weeks, if nothing unexpected pops up.

[Those appear to be wings. Jor-El had read of Thanagarians and Thanagar while researching options for alternate resources for Krypton, and then for leaving the planet. The wings, barbarism, and penchant for fighting had been mentioned, but wings aside, the description was quite tinged with Krypton's historical distaste for differing cultures that did not meet its approval.

Whether they were around in his own time or not he did not know; Krypton had long since shut itself off from the rest of the universe.

He doesn't need to learn how to fight, but he does have a question.]

Yes, I am. [She can barely make out the "S" on his chest, but she'd know that symbol anyway. She does work with Clark, after all.] You're Kryptonian.

[He doesn't know that. Thanagarians reaching Earth was never something he considered as a possibility. Far too little information, and wildly outdated at that, to know either way.]

I wasn't aware there were any Thanagarians here.

[He also wasn't aware they hadn't gone extinct in the meantime from when their peoples last had any form of contact, but then again, Krypton's self-imposed isolation.]

I'm the only one of my kind here. [And on Earth, too. Hell, she's one of the few Thanagarians not dead or stuck in a war with the Gordanians. Go exile.]

Perhaps others will arrive, with time. [That would be preferred, wouldn't it?]

There are several of us [read: Kryptonians] present, however, the majority of Foreigners here are humans.

I'm not sure if I want that. [It's lonely, but she doesn't want her friends trapped here.]

I haven't seen many, I've only heard one other is here. Superman. [It registers that he might not know that name, but she has a bit of difficulty remembering his actual name.] I think you'd know him as... Kal-el?

[He's beginning to think he should assume that anyone here arrived from Earth unless otherwise specified, because a Thanagarian on Earth? He was not expecting that.]

[Now they're even on unexpected events. And like that, one would imagine. He's not actually said anything regarding his general state of whether he was alive or dead to anyone, though he really needs to change that soon.]

About a month, a little longer. [Yet she's already adjusted seemingly well to this place. She's moved around a lot the past few years, it comes naturally to her.] Yourself?

[The first few weeks after his arrival were fairly eventful. That combined with an entirely different culture and new abilities hasn't especially helped.]
