03 [Video]

[There are two things immediately noticeable about Yue when the video comes on. The first is that she's wearing her hair down, instead of the usual Water Tribe braids and hair loopies. The second is that she looks nervous. ... More than usual, anyway.]

I was wondering. [Um.]

We all have duties that need tending to back in our own worlds, yes? But... if we can't really return to those lives, even if we went home. Um. [Almost absently, she starts touching the betrothal necklace around her neck.]

It wouldn't be abandoning those duties if you tried to pursue your own life here... would it?

[This was only slightly prompted by her earlier conversation with Steph. Really, it's been something Yue has been worrying about for a while now. She knows if she goes home, it'll be to become the new Moon Spirit. So, really, trying to make a life for herself and just acting as Yue instead of Princess Yue shouldn't be so bad.

Of course, that hasn't stopped her from feeling guilty about it, either.]

It was... interesting, for a first impression. [But a good kind of interesting!]

[Oh good! That's a relief to know. Sokka smiles and shifts a little.]

All right, I'll see you there! [AND off goes the video. Whenever Sokka arrives, she'll be waiting right outside her suite.]

[Sokka may have taken a few minutes after the video ended because he had to check his hair and make sure his clothes looked okay. Today he'd put on his Water Tribe clothes that he'd kept and then left. He ran to Yue's suite and came to a slow stop with a grin. He'd brought his boomerang since he didn't trust this place at all after everything that had gone on.]

Hey! Sorry had to [He pauses and tries to think of something cool to say.] Clean...up. [...smooth.]

[Very smooth.]

That's all right. [She grins and reaches to grasp Sokka's hand.]

Ready?

[He smiles when they hold hands and he nods. He'd tried to think of activities that would be fun for them to do. He doesn't know what to do with girls...shopping was an activity, right?]

Ready when you are.

[Anything is good for Yue, really, as lot as it helps to take her mind off things.]

It'll be nice to do something, for a change. Especially after everything else that's happened. [Because seriously, staying inside except for work is no fun.]

[Sokka's good at distracting people and begins to walk closer into the city. He'll buy her something nice.]

Alright then, we'll go shopping and have some fun.

[Only if she gets to buy something nice for him in return!]

Good. [And off they go!] I'm glad everything has finally calmed down, though.

Things were... hectic, for a while.

Yeah, same. I'm glad that you're okay as well. [Pause.] You are okay, right? No one hurt you, did they? [He'll break their...arms.

He walks along holding Yue's hand and when they start coming into the market area. So many things, Yue! So many!

He likes bags :|]

[Bags are always good.]

Well, I was hurt a little bit when we were all meant to be controlling the crowds, but I'm fine now.

[He looks worried when she mentions that she'd been hurt, not seeing any bruises or scrapes which was good. Sokka had a few cuts around his arms and did have one at his cheek and forehead but those had healed up. He nods slowly.]

As long as you weren't badly hurt and are okay now.

[He stops at a stall that has small pins, bracelets and rings. They look interesting and he hums looking at them.]

I never really understood rings. Kinda seemed more like a rich person thing or like high families.

I'm all right now. [But moving on!]

I can't say I understand them, either. They're not very common in the Northern Water Tribe. [There was never really any need for them, after all.]

[He picks one up and looks at it, turning it this way and that, making scrunchy investigating faces.]

Saw some people in the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation but...Yeah in the South it was...we didn't have them.

I mean why would you want your hand to look nice?

[He takes Yue's hand and tries to see which finger it would fit on.]

[It's a little bit funny, talking about what use a ring would have or why someone would want it... all while Sokka is thinking about putting a ring on one of her fingers.]

I don't really know. Maybe they just mean different things for different people? [Not everyone has the same taste, after all.]

Kinda like symbols then. I mean they look good, but what could that one mean?

[He points at the ring, not even knowing about different cultures and what they stand for. Aw innocence.]

Only if you tell me if you see something you want. [Because she wants to get something for him, too, okay.]

The rings are lovely, though I'm not sure I'd really want one if I don't see why I'd need it.

I can't let you get me anything, buuuut if you really want, then I won't say no. [He grins.]

Sometimes you don't need something, sometimes it's just because it looks pretty.

I suppose so. [And they are pretty. Hmm.]

It does make your hand look really nice. Well, nicer.

[What, no, she's not blushing. You saw nothing.]

I can't say I've ever put much focus on how my hands look before. [Well. It's not an 'I don't want it'.]

[He roots around in one of his pockets and pulls out a money bag. Looking at the stall owner and asking how much it was for the ring.

He bites his tongue to save himself from saying anything too sappy. Can't be a total dork or come across desperate or something.]

You can still see something as well! I mean that was more me putting it on your finger and then sort of just buying it. So uhm, yeah.

That's all right. Maybe we can look around some more... and don't forget to tell me if you see something you'd like!
