[ Porenn isn’t at all familiar with this kind of technology at all -- they’ve nothing like it back in her world -- but after a succinct explanation courtesy of the kedan and a bit of fiddling with it, she rather thinks she’s got the hang of it. Staring back at the terminal screen is a tiny, bright-eyed blonde woman in her thirties, dressed all in mourning black, with a curious light in her eyes. ]

My goodness -- well, isn’t this interesting? The kedan say it’s not sorcery, but unfortunately, they neglected to explain how it works, exactly -- only how to use it.

[ A wry smile. She’d very much like to see how it’s put together. ]

At any rate, I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Porenn, and I’ve only just arrived here to this...rather charming place. My quarters are in the Earth Sector -- I don’t suppose any of you who’ve been here longer would mind showing me the neighborhood, so to speak? Oh, I’m sure I could explore the city on my own, but it would be nice to have some company.

[ She doesn’t mention where she’s from, or more importantly, that she’s royalty. It’s not as if anyone here really needs to know, and that sort of thing might only hinder her in the future. She speaks with a smile on her face, but her fingers are doing something else entirely: to most it may only look like she’s gesturing as she speaks, but she’s actually leaving a secret message for anyone who might be able to detect it: If you can read this, contact me immediately. And let’s keep things discreet, shall we? ]

[ That gets a surprisingly genuine laugh out of him. He liked this mortal, she was quick and sharp with no silly arguments about moral character. ]

I am Loki of Asgard. If anyone ever asks, we'll tell them our introductions were very polite.

[ Porenn lets out a laugh, delighted. She'd rather liked this boy right off the bat, but she's certainly fond of him now. There's something about his manner that reminds her distinctly of home, and he is quite clever. Porenn can't help but feel somewhat endeared to him. ]

It'll be our little secret.

[ Her eyes glitter with the light of well-practiced mischief, but it's gone almost as soon as it appears. She claps her hands together, looking once again like the rather motherly little woman she usually presents herself to be. ]

It's an absolute pleasure to meet you, Loki. You're quite the charming young man, but I'm sure you hear that all the time.

[ He almost never hears anything even remotely like that anymore, not since well before he'd managed to turn all of Asgard against him. Nothing about his response betrays that. ]

You're totally right. You've already figured me out, I'm universally adored for my wit and charm. It's a thing. A real thing. There's a funny cat meme about it on the web and everything.

[ He grins at her without an ounce of shame. ]

[ By the gods, if Porenn didn't know better, she'd suspect Loki was a Drasnian transplant as well. He reminds her so much of Kheldar when they were about that age, it's almost uncanny. She gives him that ever-patient smile, but she can't help but laugh again. ]

You're a treasure, Loki. I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist on your company sometime. It may sound odd, but you remind me an awful lot of home.

I like the sound of this home of yours.

[ That's a 100% genuine sentiment, too.

Which naturally means he has to go all the way back into irreverent, thank you. ]

I don't seem to be going anywhere quite yet. You can always follow my legion of trailing fans, and steal me away.

I rather think you'd fit in quite well.

[ Also a totally genuine sentiment. She does wish she could steal him away and stick him in the academy. A boy like Loki could prove to be a valuable asset to Drasnia. ]

Oh? And how will I know they're yours?

They'll be a lot of swooning girls, obviously.

[ He didn't even miss a beat there. ]

Of course.

[ She masks her amusement for the most part, but it still shows through in her smile a little. She doesn't quite understand every fifth word that comes out of his mouth, but she gets the gist well enough. ]

It's been delightful talking with you, dear. Try not to trip over all those poor young girls. Swooning is hard on a lady's heart, you know.

[ She's being entirely facetious, but it all comes from behind that patient smile. She does think she'll be seeing more of this intelligent young man in the future, but for now, she switches off the feed, feeling rather satisfied with herself. ]
