[The visage of a man comes onto the screen. He is unfamiliar but fascinated by the technology of the computer terminals. However, that is not the pressing topic at hand. ]

Greetings. My name is Robert Lutece and I arrived here yesterday with my sister Rosalind. She and I are both scientists and will be converting her suite into a laboratory, therefore we have no need for the furniture in her residence. We will be offering it to whoever is interested.

[He sits and waits in front of the computer terminal, looking rather calm with his eyebrows slightly raised. They just sit that way naturally, default expression that gives a general appearance of being constantly unamused.

It's her turn to talk now. Though this would be a little easier if they were reporting from the same terminal.]

[Sure enough, Rosalind's feed flickers to life...and there's a woman who looks remarkably like the first man, looking similarly interested in the computer terminal, but otherwise similarly unamused. It's partly due to a similar eyebrow situation as her brother's - but otherwise, it's because she actually IS quite unamused, and her tone of voice indicates this.]

As he said. We don't need any of this.

[She shifts aside, showing off the room behind her...where most of the furniture has been shoved into the middle of the floor, the whole place overturned.]

No need for recompense. If you have any manner of equipment or scrap that we could use to set up, however...that would be appreciated. Honestly, we just want it gone.

What sort of laboratory? I may have some spare equipment I currently have little use for, depending on your plans.

[He has no need for more furniture, but he does have tools and some other equipment he's worked past the point of currently using.]

We study quantum physics. Where we're from we actually had built a machine to cross through time and dimensions. Or I built mine, and she built hers.

Considering how people are brought here, it would definitely be interesting to study what sort of physics this world operates on. It will be a lot of work though. [Sigh, and they don't have any of their notes.]

Yes, it would be. The level of technology available here is quite basic, at its best.

I'm afraid I can't take any of your furniture ( shockwave doesn't use the future either - it's all crammed on one floor to clear the space for a lab as well. but that doesn't stop the open, honest smile shockwave gives the feed. ) but it's a pleasure to meet more scientists.

Everything, I suppose - I dabble in anything that catches my interest. ( 'dabble' might be selling two million years of experience short. ) But I've made significant progress in research for alternate energy sources.

Quantum physics though. Everyone knows about momentum and kinetic force as applied to an object. Things are much more interesting on an atomic level.

You're talking to one of the two greatest minds in the field on my world. Though technically I'm sort of an interdisciplinary expert. Thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, astrophysics, little bit of dabbling in biophysics.

I'm Dr. Rebecca Holiday, primarily a scientist myself, at least back home. What are your fields and what sort of laboratory are you looking to accomplish? I wouldn't mind offering any assistance you'll need if I can be of any help.

[Because converting an entire suite into a lab? This is so exciting just to hear about. Why didn't she think of the same on a smaller scale?]

We're Quantum Physicists. In the past, we've been a machine that is capable of opening a window between worlds...but it will take a great deal of work to get back to that point. Another specialty of mine is quantum suspension. Likely I'll start with that. For now, the only assistance we need is cleaning the place out and getting ahold of the equipment.

[A sigh of frustration. She's starting to feel a bit cross.]

I sent out my own feed just after Robert did. It seems I needn't have bothered, as it seems to be going unnoticed.

And yes, we are giving away the furniture. It's in the way. Trades are gladly welcomed for scrap and equipment, but honestly, it's taking up space we could use for something else. We only need one home with one bed. Scarcely need much else.
