This trip has been interesting so far, though a little sad when you remember that the others on Sinbrilee are actually ghosts. I've got to say though, for ghosts they hold a pretty good party, not what I expected. [Though neither was finding a turtle egg.]

Is this kind of thing often? Going other places I mean...and finding items from back home. Does anyone know how these items even get here?

It's pretty normal, and I think they get sucked in here with us, but can't tell you how or why.

[A beat.]

Enjoying the party?

It's really strange that it's specific items. [Mainly because he got his rosary beads and then his Bible also showed up. Oh well, another mystery.]

I have been, wasn't really sure what to think at first.

Some of us here are ghosts, too, m'sieur. In our own ways. [Eponine had died before coming here, but before that had felt like a ghost about the streets of Paris.]

But the party was most wonderful! I had never been to such an affair, and I hope to attend one again! And the food! Oh I had never seen so much wonderful food, nor even so much! I hope they happen more often!

[She pauses for a moment.] What sort of items, m'sieur?

It was a pretty good party.

The turtle does usually stop places but this is the only place I've ever been actually able to go see. As for stuff from home, a friend and I were talking about it the other day. We think it might be the turtle's doing. Either on purpose or accidentally just...summoning stuff from home for us.

It is sad, but it's also amazing how they've been able to keep going. And they can throw one hell of a party.

I've wondered that too. Maybe the same way we get here? But then again, they never show up on Asti, so then again...

... Creepy coincidence?

[He doesn't really believe in coincidences. His battery had shown up, +1 fear bug, just after Malicant's attack. He's inclined to be wary of it.]

The ghosts seem pretty cheerful. Y'know. For the undead.

[If this was video, you would have a lovely sight of his face with a 'are you serious' expression.]

Very creepy and a little too convenient, I don't think if we ask we'll get any where though...Or if anyone has already asked.

Makes you wonder what their culture was like that they're so at ease. Or I do at least. Was it something they just accepted as part of a cycle or did they learn to accept it with time. [He never really asked about it to be honest.]

[He takes it as the kind that were on the other shell.] I'm sorry, if I caused offense in any way, I apologise.

It's been a long time since I've ever been to a party like that. I don't think it was quite as big either. [Aw she sounds so happy and it's making Kurt smile.] Well hopefully someone here will decide to do something similar or that the kedan have their own kind of celebration where it's just as extravagant.

Oh, well I arrived here without my Bible or rosary beads and they showed up here. In this world I mean, they were on the other place.

So it's done it before? Why weren't you able to go any other time?

[He pauses and hmm's as he thinks on that.]

It's not like we can prove it either way, but that's an interesting theory. I suppose it wouldn't be as fun if we were told everything and how it all works.

[Kurt smiles and nods.]

That's what I thought. I don't think there's very many populations that could say the same thing if anything were to suddenly happen.

This place is always so full of surprises.

Twice before I think. And well, powers usually don't work when you head onto land and when mine turn off, I start to die.

I don't know, I think it would be more fun if we had actual information and could do things and not just struggle to deal with whatever crisis drops on our head next.

[Nope, she's a brand new denizen of his own turtle. Oh well.] No, m'sieur, you caused no offense. Simply a thought I had, you see. No more, no less.

[And she is happy. In her young life, Éponine had hardly had cause to be happy. And here, she has it.] No, any party I went to was in my parents' inn. But I was a child and could do little more than learn to dance with the patrons and fill up their wine glasses. I should hope they find reason to celebrate! If only to gather everyone together and dress in such finery I have never had! It truly was an experience.

[She pauses for a moment, listening to him.] You're a Godly man. [She once had been religious. But since her family had fallen into ruin, she could not help but believe that there was no god, and if there was, he had abandoned her and her kind.] I'm glad those items found you! If I had any such possession I would hope that it would find itself here for me, and yet, I have no worldly possessions! I came here with the clothes on my back, and even those were not my own.

[Another pause.] I learned to read from the Bible.

Ah, I didn't know about the powers not working.

True, but then when has that ever been the case with us? [There's a small sigh.]

Oh. It's just one thing to worry about for when we stop at the next place. Apparently the mainland is full of monsters too.

I think it's happened. Rarely. Maybe.

Well I should thank you for the heads up then. Wonderful, nothing like keeping an eye out for something that wants to make you dinner.

Happy to help. I think I heard they're poisonous too so even scratches and bites are a bad idea.

I'll check the files again when we get back home.

[Hey, he's just trying to lighten the mood.]

[Or through a grapevine where a Bat could've heard it, maybe. Kyle likes that he has friends in the shadows.]

Definitely not many from where I'm from, at least. I have to give these guys credit, they're making the best of an awful situation.

It's never a dull moment here.

[Kyle is lucky in that sense. Right now, the only people he really has much contact with would be his students from back home that are here. It doesn't seem like many people from his team in his world are here. Younger versions from other worlds, yes.]

Well either way, it's kind of nice to get them for those that do.

I think if I could do the same thing, I would.

I'm not sure if it's always going to be a good thing though. I can imagine it'd get draining the longer we're here.

True, but dull doesn't mean hectic or bad. This is pretty fun, and not dull.

Take it you found something good, then?

I got my bible from home and rosary beads. They were both gifts from people close to me, so to have them here it kind of like having a comfort I guess.

Then I hope that it's an experience you can have again soon. Every lady should have the opportunity to dress up in fine clothes.

[He makes a hum noise, on his end he nods.]

I am, and thank you. [He never used to so religious until he had left home (read as: ran away). Finding a church to take refuge and working with the priest there.]

I'm sure given time here you'll make something your own then, even if it's something small.

[He's smiling more.]

That's impressive.

I hope it doesn't, I think that would be just as bad. I'm enjoying it though.
