[A teenager, roughly sixteen but no older than seventeen, flicks on the video. She looks pretty hesitant about showing her face, biting her lip and nervously running a hand through her hair, which is pulled back into a ponytail, and so she pulls out some strands with the motion, and the curls dangle. With careful attention, you might notice a streak of grey amongst the blonde.]

[But then she straightens up and her expression becomes something more determined. She hasn't seen anyone she knows in person, so here is a test. Hopefully it won't backfire.]

I need to know if anyone here is familiar with or from ‘Camp Half-Blood.’ [She pauses, then somewhat begrudgingly:] Or ‘Camp Jupiter,’ I guess.

[A sigh, then another pause. She taps her fingers on something off-screen]

Since a decent number of the population doesn’t really seem to be native, just how long have you all been here? I want to know if it’s a common trend or a newer phenomenon.

And does anyone know anything more about this place? Things you might have picked up on your own. I understand the basics, and I gather most of the newer residents have gotten similar lectures upon arrival, so don’t bother with reiterating. I’m mostly curious about things the kedan haven’t explained. I tried asking questions on the cart ride, but the ones who found me weren’t the most talkative on the way here. I’ve learned next to nothing about this Emperor.

[Her eyes widen slightly, as if she’s had a sudden realization] I thought I heard mention of a library – can someone tell me where it is? Or maybe it was a book store? Either way, the question still stands.

[Sokka's face is scrunched up and his tongue is just poking out of his mouth as he jabs at a few things and then pulls back with a grin.]

There! It...is set up, right?

I'm not going to just be talking to some...what is this thing called again?

[He squints and gives another jab before shrugging.]

Anyway, I know there's other people around, so hi! Hello! I'm Sokka, just some guy currently hoping that he's doing this ri--[And the video and all sound cut off as Sokka touches something that clearly makes it end recording.]

[There's an extremely attractive blond woman on the other end of the feed, looking a little wet and a lot disgruntled. Nita's features are distinctive--high-arched eyebrows, pointed ears, and if you're looking very carefully, gill slits along each side of her neck.]

PSA. If you were thinking about leaving, bad news. You get about half a mile out and something knocks you back into that same coma we were all in when they fished us out.

[She is so disgusted you don't even know.]

So unless you really enjoyed that six-hour cart ride, I'd start looking at other options.

[And there's Kon in the background looking soggy and miffed. He huffs and pushes away wet hair from his face.]

Yeah, like doing a Dorothy and finding some ruby slippers.

[The image flickers on to Kara casually sitting in her chair, arm draped over one side as she pushes herself back, one booted foot coming to rest on the desk in front of her. A lit cigar is between her fingers – they’re finally dry -, and there’s a set of blacked out shades covering her eyes. ]

Guess saying ‘Galactica, come in’ is out of the question, huh? [She snorts, and ashes the cigar before putting it to her lips again to take a long drag.]

Peachy. [Brows up behind the glasses, and her mouth pulls into a smirk that’s lacking humor.] Sounds like we’re all going to be one big happy family here, doesn’t it? [She sounds SO pleased.]

Name’s Kara, call sign Starbuck.  I go by either, so pick your poison. [Ash flick, and she pulls the sunglasses off and tosses them aside, grinning.]

Speaking of ‘poison’ – anybody know where the party’s at, or do I have to start my own?

[The feed opens on a rather charming fellow – who's dressed in all the finest haute couture that Turtletopia has to offer. He's well-groomed and—frankly, a bit of a dandy. He has a deep, booming voice that suggests he has plenty of practice at projecting it across large spaces, and his manner is brisk and jovial.]

I know that there are several newcomers among us – that charming young Atlantean lass, for instance, and her wayward friend with the tinted glasses. [He tips his bowler hat in greeting.] And many others besides. I'm Lieuen, and it's my honour to welcome you to our home.

Though the circumstances may seem at present a little... unusual for some of you, I plan to do everything in my power to ensure your stays here are as painless as possible. I am the master of commerce and capital here on Keeliai, so anyone wishing to... say, gain financing for a business venture or somesuch would do well to come to me. I also do personal loans, but I digress.

To commemorate the arrival of – well, those of you that are watching this message, I suppose – it's with great pleasure that I announce the commencement of the Welcome Festival! The next six days are going to be rife with all the wonders that Keeliai has to offer, and each Sector will be doing its very best to impress! For those of you wishing to participate, the first area participating will be the Earth Sector! So, at the conclusion of my message, feel free to make your way there. Trust me when I say that there are no finer pastries on all of – well, on Tu Vishan, in any case.

There will also be substantial discounts in all the stores in whichever Sector the Festival is in on that day, so do take advantage of them, hmm? After all, I'm funding the entire thing, you may as well get your juulan's worth!
