So, who all here is into racing?
[simple, direct, to the point. she's smiling as she says it, though. It's about equal parts mischievous and competitive.]
Oh! And for anyone working on or interested in Mr. Kent's newspaper, I'm going to be writing a section on automotives. If anyone has any information on any of the vehicles or mechanics here, I'd love to talk shop. Thanks.
[She gives the camera a little wave, and disconnects.]

[She nods a little to the name.]
Of course! I've been around vehicles since I was a little girl. I'm pretty experienced. Though you're welcome to come and supervise if you're worried?
[That last bit is the tiniest bit teasing. She doesn't need protection, but it still feels nice when people are protective of her.]
I think I can trust you enough to not do that. I'm just not sure the natives have the kind of protection you might need.
How've you been, Clark? How's your newspaper coming?
And it's working fine, there's just so much to do. At least I have a lot of people willing to help but it might be a while until I'm satisfied with the project and actually publish the first issue.

[She says that with some solemnity. She appreciates the concern, really.]
You didn't answer my first question, you know. I asked about you, too.
[He is an adorable workaholic and she more than knows the type.]
My article is almost done, so just let me know when you'd like it by, all right?
[He can't help but laugh at her gentle chiding. But he does keep asking her, so she has the right to do the same.]
I'm alright. I really can't complain, plenty of people have it worse in this place. I even have my wife with me.
I will! My, that was fast writing.
[Besides, he seems sweet. She's glad he can have some happiness here. She smiles at the next bit and tucks her hair behind her ears.]
What can I say? I was inspired.
[Cars, Clark. So many cars. All the cars.]
[He gives her a smile.] Mind if I read whatever you have, then? I'm just curious. I'm not planing on censoring anything.

[ping!
Her little dissertation is two pages - it's not particularly imbued with charm and personality so much as succinct and very direct. She spends a great deal of time highlighting and contrasting the differences between various technologies, with a focus on the automotives specifically. It outlines the various power sources (bio-mechanical solar batteries), the variances to the transmissions and gear-boxes, the fact that some vehicles are still a crank-start instead of an ignition. There's even a comprehensive timeline for the approximate period of emergence of such a technology comparative to the 'now'. Of course, none of it's really in layman's terms, though the language is simple enough for anyone interested.]

He simply nods at her when she starts reading and listens closely. It's not a bad article, and he's pretty sure there aren't many non-professional people who could do better. Let alone people her age. He isn't going to change anything on the articles people write unless it's offensive, just make sure they are grammatically correct and with no spelling mistakes. This wasn't the daily planet, this was a newspaper to inform people as much as possible about everything in this strange world.
But even if it had been professional, Clark wouldn't have much to change on this one, only tell her to make it more personal and less direct next time.]
This is... impressive, Asami. I'm pretty sure we could actually get more than one article from this, if you wanted.
]Video]
Do you think so? I wasn't sure how much to write... I've never done anything like this before.
You'll get the hang of it easily, but for now you can write as much as you want. It doesn't have to be limited to one single article, so if it did end being too long we can just split it.
[... she pauses and ducks her head a bit.]
Clark.
No need to thank me, really. And if you find anyone who'll race you please tell me, I'd love to write an article on that.
[racing is her thing, okay.]
