So, who all here is into racing?

Do you want me to explain it to you, or should I just say 'it's magic'?

[ At that, she grins for a few seconds before she goes back to intensely staring at that motorcycle, yup. ]

Unless you know what you're getting into if you try to explain it to me... maybe go for the 'magic' alternative if nothing sticks?

Korra, it's a creature from the spirit world. It's well beyond the comprehension even of the Avatar. I suggest you not try. Lesser men and women have succumbed to the great and incredible mystery of the motorcycle.

[She says all this in a faux pro-bending announcer type voice, with just the tiniest bit of a grin the whole time.]

[ Korra can't help but have her grin split into a laugh. Though she does try a mock serious face afterward. ]

So you're saying the Great Miss Asami Sato is better than the Avatar, huh? Pretty bold statement there!

Well, even the Avatar can't be the best at everything. The world would be a pretty boring place, I think.

[ Small grin here before she glances off at the bike. ]

Maybe it'd be safer and more peaceful if I was. [ Pause. Ack! What is she-- ] I mean, I gotta try, at least!

[slight frown.]

[She reaches out to touch the other girl's arm gently.]

Even the Avatar isn't meant to always succeed at everything. You have to be human, just like the rest of us. To know what it's like to win or lose just like we do. Otherwise you'd be too far above us. No one--

[ She can't help it: Asami's words easily break another smile on Korra's face that's tinged with relief. Considering that their last conversation went... kind of awkward, to put it mildly, Korra's glad her only friend from the same universe - and time period, to boot - is still, well... her friend. ]

Right... you like the fact that the Avatar doesn't know a thing about machinery and is completely hopeless at driving anything that isn't a polar bear dog. Gotcha, Asami.

[ Grins, then... looks thoughtful. Back to staring at Asami's motorcycle again. ]

I guess, but... without Naga around, I don't have as much in the way of transport as I'd like to think. [ Pause. Pause. Pause. ] Could you... teach me? To ride a motorcyle, that is.

[OOPS SHE JUST LIT UP LIKE THE AVATAR EQUIVALENT OF A CHRISTMAS TREE.]

I'd love to!

[ She almost seems surprised at that answer. ] R-Really? [ Beat. ] Okay, you know I'm going to be super bad at this, but, uh... with proper training, I can pick up anything fast! Yeah!

[ That is so not false bravado in her voice. Nope. Only a little. ]

Korra. [Her tone is gentle, almost chiding.] I'm sure you'll do fine. And I'm a pretty good teacher, if I do say so myself.

[She nods with a sort of false sagacity.]

[ She gives a laugh at that, but it still sounds nervous. ]

Fine? Come on, Asami. You saw how I parked your car.

[ That poor pole. ]

[That poor car. She manages not to grimace at the memory.]
