Kara and I are throwing a party at the shell edge, starting roughly now, and you're all invited. Unless you're going to be a huge jerk, in which case, stay home.

[Seriously, she will drown you herself.]

If getting to the edge is a problem for you, mass transit is being provided in style by the Green Lantern Corps. Look for the glowing green guy. Kyle! Say hi!

[Because that is clearly how the Guardians intended the rings to be used.]

I am handling food, drink, and pool toys, so basically just bring a towel and a good attitude.

[Nita pauses to consider whether she missed anything.

What about swimsuits? Have they got those around here?

[She just arrived like, two days ago. Hasn't really had time to go shopping.]

Alcuin and Cinna can make you one, or you can get one made in Earth Sector, [Nita has acquainted more than one merchant with the necessity of being able to make swimsuits] but there's a few days lead time on that. If you want, you can borrow one of mine. Tie-on bikinis fit basically anyone.

[Lending a bathing suit to someone she's known for about five seconds? Assuming everyone is just as comfortable in next to nothing as she is? Must be Nita!]

Everything is on an as-need basis around here?

[That sucks. She'll have to hit up the Earth Sector to get something made for the future. But in the meantime...]

But yeah, okay. That'd be great if you don't mind. Where can I pick it up?

[And no, she's still not ever the fact that she has the body to wear bikinis now. The Bite is the gift that keeps on giving, it seems.]

Bathing suits are kind of a specialty item around here. Dresses and stuff are at lot easier to come by ready-to-wear.

[Nita looks over Erica's shoulder at the decor of her suite. Wood. Nita's own is obviously Water.]

It'll probably be faster if I come to you. What's your suite number?

WO-2D. Facing a little shop with a green awning.

[She pauses a beat.]

And thanks, I appreciate it.

Hey, no problem. Everyone was new once.

[Not that Nita's unselfconscious generosity is limited to new people.]

I'll be right over.

[She hangs up, and within a couple of minutes is knocking on Erica's door, loaner swimsuit in one hand. Flying is awesome.]

[Erica opens the door immediately at the knock and blinks.]

That was fast. How'd you...

[She gives Nita a once over and--are those wings on her ankles? Wings?

Oh.]

I flew!

[Nita holds up a foot and waggles it around to draw attention to the ankle wings, not that Erica seems to need the cue.]

I'm Namorita Prentiss.

[She sticks out a bathing suit-free hand for a shake.]

[The name seems slightly familiar, like she should know it, but she's too distracted by the fact that the woman can fly and has wings on her ankles.

Instead Erica shakes the woman's hand.]

Erica Reyes. Got here the day before yesterday.

[And she feels like a damned tourist staring at everything but except for werewolves, her world is entirely normal and boring.]

[She's also got Spock ears and funky eyebrows, those those are both less weird than the wings.]

Nice to meet you, Erica.

[Nita doesn't play the crushing grip game with anyone who doesn't start it, so her handshake is just firm.]

You want to try on the suit?

[The ears and eyebrows didn't escape her notice but yes, both aren't as out of the ordinary as the wings.

Looking now to the suit, green scales and all, she cocks her head to the side.]

I'd better to make sure it fits alright.

[And looks good. Beggars can't be choosers but that doesn't mean she wants to meet people looking dumpy.]

[The strange, scaled fabric matches the suit Nita's wearing, and though hers has a different cut and different details, they're obviously the product of the same line or designer (or culture).]

It's a tie-on, and we look like we're within a size or two of each other. It should work.

[For all she's shorter, Nita probably wears a bigger size, since she has her family's muscular build.]

[It's a scaled bikini. Green, but Erica's getting a sort of warrior Red Sonja vibe. No objecting to it in the least, however. Taking the suit, she backs up inside and gestures that Nita can come in too if she wants.]

If it's a tie-on, it probably should. Be right back.

[She scoots off into the downstairs bathroom, not bothering to go all the way up to her bedroom. Nita's a bit shorter but she does have the muscular build Erica's got curves enough the suit should work fine. When she comes out, it's just as she suspected. The suit fits well enough. No worries about things slipping out of place or anything. Erica grins, still not over how great her post-Bite body looks.]

[Erica's werewolf body looks solidly normal as far as Nita's concerned. ~*~comics~*~]

[She means it, too. If those pants make your butt look big, she'll say so.]

Great. Then I'll just grab a towel and find uhm, the Green Lantern for transport you said, right?

[Because she is not going to run there if it's as far as she's heard it is.]

I could take you, but Kyle'd be way faster. And much better for your hair.

[Green Lantern Air is the height of comfort--assuming the Green Lantern in question isn't mad at you.]

Last thing I want is to mess up my hair when I'm looking this good.

[Confidence, she has it. Erica tilts her chin up at Nita again.]

I'll hitch a ride with him. Thanks again for the suit, Nita. I'll give it back tomorrow?

Whenever you get around to it. I've got plenty of others.

[Comes of living underwater. Plus she has no problem diving into the water in whatever non-swimwear she happens to be wearing at the time.]

I'm gonna take care of a few things before I head out, but I'll see you in a bit.

[Nita waves, and then, as soon as her foot crosses the threshold, takes off like a shot.]

[ That makes Scott laugh. She'd be right in thinking he took that as the greatest deadpan he's ever heard. ]

Yes. I'm lending one to Erica, but you're on your own.

[It's a quick drop in note, he's already got his shades on and an open colourful shirt. Not wearing his red specs though, he has a feeling some people there know what they are.]
