An odd question, I am sure, but I wonder...

I thought of the ghosts and the waters, and the idea that death could be just around the corner. That is that those of us that are just about to slip into that darkness may one day wake up to be choking on our own blood.

Forgive me for such a ... unfortunate image, but my point is ... how many of you have someone who you are close to? How many can say that you have met someone who makes your life worth it all, even if death may be so close? Even if this may all just be a dream?

This need not be romantic, I suppose, but friendship as well.

After all, sometimes it is friendship that can save a life, too, right?

When one is young, they should seek out friendship or else end up wretched.

It does not sound to me like you are pathetic... it sounds more like on your own, you have lost hope. and I do wish I could do something to give you hope.

[He sounds almost surprised at the word, like he hasn't even thought about it for a long time.]

That's kind of you to say, but...like I said, it's complicated. I think some people would tell you I don't deserve things like that.

But I will say that everyone is deserving of hope, and those that would say a person is not deserving should have their hope crushed.

What about those that crush the hope of others? Are they deserving?

Of course, they are.

Perhaps even more so than anyone else, because if they continue to be without hope then... the darkness which they create will get worse and worse until there is nothing for anyone. So yes, they are deserving.

Funny, isn't it? You cannot wish for hope for one and hope for another. If one wants that, they should be crushed. I do wonder if I sound confusing, though...
