An odd question, I am sure, but I wonder...

I thought of the ghosts and the waters, and the idea that death could be just around the corner. That is that those of us that are just about to slip into that darkness may one day wake up to be choking on our own blood.

Forgive me for such a ... unfortunate image, but my point is ... how many of you have someone who you are close to? How many can say that you have met someone who makes your life worth it all, even if death may be so close? Even if this may all just be a dream?

This need not be romantic, I suppose, but friendship as well.

After all, sometimes it is friendship that can save a life, too, right?

There were a lot of politics in the Knights, as much as I hate to admit it. We had good intentions, but ... such things always fell into place. Being an elf, being in a position of power, I was always frightened of what that would mean. My general said that I need only agree with him and everything would be all right. I would remain out of the politics so long as I played the agreeing child. So I did. Because I have seen those games tear apart good and decent men... and did not want to fall to such darkness myself.

But when you play the role for so long, when you have real words and you want to share them for the sake of others... no one listens. I suppose that is my own fault, though. Would you not agree?

I wouldn't really know. I've never agreed with people unless I actually agreed with them. And even then, it's about a fifty-fifty chance. Me and politics don't really get along. At all. Never have, never will.

I am certain that you would have handled everything much better than me.

Probably I would've handled it badly. But hey, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Even though we have only spoken a few times, I still have great amount of confidence in you. It may just be the way that you speak though that instills it in me. You just speak in a manner that makes others believe in you... though, I think you probably think I am teasing you.

Well, I'm the owner of a very successful company. I know how to sell a product.

One that no longer sells weapons, though, yes? So what is it that you sell now?

[manofiron]

I guess now, it's not selling anything. I'm not there to supply it with tech.

Well... hm... [ Actually not sure what to say to that. ]
