Either way, for a guy who's notoriously anal about knowing where his things are all the time, this is a Big Thing-- particularly when Tony's got some sentimental things tucked into the wallet that was pickpocketed away from him last night.]

I've gotta hand it to you, whoever you are-- you're way more than just a petty thief. [He sniffs in distaste.] You're pretty good to slip under my nose. But three thefts on Foreigners in a row, all within a few days? Unless you're trying to show off, you're just making yourself obvious.

Sooner or later, you are going to get caught.

[Tony adds, coldly:]

By the way, I keep my juulan in a bag-- not my wallet. You've just wasted a whole lot of effort making one more enemy. Unless the Emperor's set up a currency exchange and I haven't been paying attention, have fun with my useless American dollars. Asshole.

Oh, I know. There's one group of-- well, scoundrels that are always in the news in Gotham.

[He says it with a particular detachment, like someone relating an interesting story that doesn't affect them in the slightest. 'Scoundrels'. Infuckingdeed, Bruce.]

[He's never heard of Gotham, but he presses further out of curiosity.]

Scoundrels? Don't tell you have troubles with cibo-abilities in your neck of the woods, too.

Well, I suppose that depends entirely on what on Earth a 'cibo' is.

[He rubs at his chin, thoughtful.]

Basically, it's someone who's got food-based powers. Cibolocutors, communicating through food; xocoscalperes, sculpting functioning duplicates out of chocolate; sabopictors, able to paint food and have the paintings taste like the foods, those sorts. That isn't nearly a completed list, though. I don't think one's ever been compiled.

[CONDIMENT KING. Bruce, no. He manages to control his expression.]

Um-- in that case, I'd have to say no. We do have a ridiculous amount of people with ice-based powers, though. They're always on the news performing some manner of mischief.

Anyway, have you noticed any more thefts? [Not likely, but it's worth a shot.] This isn't the first by far.

Are you certain they're all connected? It sounds pretty circumstantial to me... people lose wallets all the time, right? I remember once in Prague I managed to misplace over six thousand dollars in cash.

[Totally cheerful about this.]

[STUBBORNLY:] I don't lose my wallet.

[Six.... six thousand, though. Tony gives Bruce an uncertain look.]
