Who's currently bouncing around his treehouse like an over-caffeinated grasshopper while Baby Tooth peeks in the corner of the console screen with an expression like welp that's Jack for you. Whether viewers can perceive them, especially the newer arrivals, will remain to be seen. ]

WHOOOHOOO! Goodbye Summer, goodbye! Have a good vacation! Don't hurry back!

[ And then with a final whoop of joy, the feed turns off! Yeah, that's all he wanted to share. ]

No, no, it's okay. I...I get why you didn't say. That doesn't make what I said any better.

[Even if it was the truth. Not to mention he was too busy processing the existence of one God, let alone a God and a spirit, and just totally dismissed Jack's existence right there. Hiccup chews his own bottom lip out of habit, running his fingers through his hair.]

And you know... despite what you're thinking, spirits like me can't be seen unless they're believed in. So if you'd really thought I didn't exist... trust me, you wouldn't have even known I was here.

[He doesn't know what Jack imagines he's thinking. It's honestly just the shock, although he really didn't think anything on the turtle could shock him anymore. His brow drew together for a second before the forming frown at himself disappeared, and he rubbed his finger underneath his nose.]

Okay. Uh...do you think we could...get that nut bread again? Whatever you called it?

[ Even across the video feed it's possible to see that a lot of tension flows out of Jack's frame. It was strange how used he'd gotten to being accepted for being him and people either ignoring or simply not caring that he wasn't precisely human. Hiccup's reaction had been entirely at the other end of the scale and that very recognition he'd once craved so badly -- to be known as a person of legend, to have someone get that dawning understanding -- suddenly seemed like it would cause more distance than it closed. ]

The danishes? Sure we can... was kind of hoping you wanted to make a detour in that direction, actually.

[Hiccup gets the feeling he'd nearly screwed something up, the kind of feeling he got whenever his dad was particularly disappointed in him, but on a bit of a lesser scale. The comment makes him grin, though.]

If I can get the ingredients I'll make you actual nut bread sometime. It's a bit different than the, uh, danishes.
