[In this video, Sylar appears as a conversational and softer version of himself. He swings back and forth in his chair once before addressing the screen.]

I seem to be the latest victim in a string of thefts. Is someone handling this? The authorities, an overeager vigilante? I don't really care who it is, but they seem to have taken some weapons that could be a danger to most people. I figured you'd like to know.

[He glances down to his hands, visible at the edge of the frame. A small, blue, electrical spark dances along his fingertips on one hand. It disappears as he looks up again.]

I wasn't exactly popular back home.

Popularity and social acceptance doesn't necessarily go hand in hand. I was amazing popular, but.. not the most accepted.

Sorry for you. But, I wasn't. I went from nobody to fugitive. Then, runaway, then the kid with an anger problem. One to the other. But, I didn't care.

Not entirely unlike my own story.

Why were you a fugitive?

My dad was murdered. Police thought I was responsible. He ... he wasn't a great dad all the time.

I understand. The only reason I didn't kill my own father was because he was dying already.

Maybe a part of me felt relief. But, he was still my dad. And he wasn't always... how he was.
