Lame.

[Kon's leaning forward and propping his head up with his hand, cheek a little smooshed, flicking something off the desk that can't be seen.]

I know it's been a few days since the whole magical mix up's been sorted but...it's mega lame when you wake up and you remember that you're not as strong as you grow up to be.

Been here for over a year and...well I haven't noticed my clothes getting too small or anything. Y'know, don't see any changes. Don't feel any changes either.

[He brings his other arm up, the one not holding his head up, and flexes.]

See that? That's like half the size they were last week.

[He lets out a sigh and sits up straighter before leaning back in his chair.]

Okay, there was actually a point to making this. Not that. Anyone got a job going? I'll do anything. I'm a great people person, I'm pretty strong yadda yadda, the usual self selling spiel people do when they need a job. Still got one but I need more to do before I become a total slob, only reason I haven't right now is there's no TV here. Small mercies, huh?

All right, then. What jobs are you going out for, and what skills do you have?

Well, I can do loads of heavy lifting and like I said, great with people.

Okay, I can put those under abilities. Do you have any job experience?

Uh, superheroing was a full-time job back home.

Which is sad, isn't it? You'd think you'd get vacation or some hours off or something.

So I think we can safely put down that you'd be excellent at physical labour. Did you do much research as part of your.. superheroing?

If it makes you feel better, I think you look good even with less muscle mass.

[He offers a small smile.]

As for a job, are you any good with tools?

Oh yeah, I know it.

Tools? I'm awful at that kind of stuff.

You are? Sorry I don't have a job for you then. I'm doing some handy man and repair stuff and it's been paying decently.

Well with half to population on the shell being a meta, no wonder you got a lot of work.

[He smiles.]

[Victor laughs a bit.] Yeah, that's definitely keeping me busy. Thankfully it makes up for me not having any kind of formal training or anything like that.

You should benchpress tractors and use cows for dumb bells.

[Stares for a minute and then grins.]

I'm gonna do it.

Does this place stunt the aging process? Not that I want to grow or anything.

[Still, now she's got something to think about.]

I dunno. I mean I've been here for over a year, I haven't really noticed a change? Not physically in the sense of like...my features. I mean hair has grown and stuff. I just don't know if I look different?

Hmm...well, I guess I wouldn't worry too much just yet, I'm almost 16 and I haven't noticed much of a change in myself from the last year. Hoping I'm done actually...5'7" is a pretty good height. Though I guess you wouldn't normally notice so much unless it's like a drastic change...boys can keep growing and changing until they're 25 I think.

Until we're 25? Seriously?

[He smiles a little at it.]

Wouldn't mind growing some more. I think I was half a foot taller last week.

Absolutely! So eat anything with phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium in it for your bones and for your muscles water, protein, and carbohydrates. For most people that means eating all the things they hate heh...oh...sleep too.

[Kon brings up a valid point, Kal really hasn't noticed himself aging over this year he's spent on the turtle- and more importantly, he hasn't noticed Lois or any other humans age either. On him it could be disregarded as simply weird Kryptonian physiology, on others not so much.

Something else to keep his mind occupied, he guesses.]

What kind of job would you like to do? ...And 'rock star' is not an option.

Seriously? That sucks, it was top of my list. I dunno, I want something active and physical. Heck, I'd take almost anything though!

[His lips tighten upwards, but it's still not quite a smile.]

With your powers you could maybe help stores carry things around, or act as a messenger?

Yeah I kinda did that before for people further out on the shell. Like moving equipment and stuff. Might look into seeing if there's more in the city like that. [He's quiet a moment.] Tommy had a messenger thing going, right?

[He nods] He did, but I think it started when the Kedan were angry at us so they wouldn't use something like that.

Huh yeah, I dunno if they would use it right now any way.

It's still worth a try?

[Kon isn't lazy, Kal knows as much. He isn't stupid either, and he's proven himself perfectly capable of doing plenty of things as long as you give him enough trust for him to believe in himself (that had been Kal's mistake, and he isn't trying to shy away from it. He expected Kon to prove himself when he should have trusted him, showed him he believed in him).

But he won't lie, he will feel relieved when he gets a job.]

[Excuse you Kal, but he's had a job until recently. The guy had an apprentice to train so Kon agreed to let his spot go. He's quiet for a moment as he thinks it over, tapping at his lip and then stroking his chin.]

Y'know, maybe I will. I mean, worst that happens is they say no and then I can just find something else.

Exactly. Good luck either way- it's getting harder to get a job with the kedans now that there are more and more foreigners on the turtle, but there's also more foreigners in charge of business... maybe try luck there?

How do you feel about frozen fish?

As long as it's not slimy and flopping about it's cool.

[ then under his breath: ]

Percy would kill me if I did that.

I dunno, some people might be okay with it.

[He smiles though and sits up a little straighter.]

Well if there's a spot open, I'll take it.

[ Jack will send Kon the address for the fish shop in the water sector. ]

There's a cure for that. An actual cure, by the way, not a made up cure that could become a terrible joke.

[Skeptical look headed your way Dick!]

Do I want to know which part you're referring to? Cause it could have been all of it and all I can think of are stupid things. Like working out or eating spinach.

Best cure is working out. The joke was a pretty bad one, I admit, but... hitting the gym once a day will help with that.

You know I have to lift a lot for it to even do anything, right? Not saying it won't be anything I do just...That's a lot. I'd say I'd lift Bart but he weights like what, 20?

I'm sure we can find a lot of heavy things to get your work out going! And Bart doesn't count. Maybe a hundred Barts?

Just get all the carts and cattle and I'll use them. Cow-thing juggler. [Pause.] That's a lot of Bart's.

I can do that, no worries. [Don't ask how he'll get them. Just don't.]

[He makes a small noise in his throat.]

Um... maybe you can help! I'm looking for a ton of celphones. Or phones. Something like phones.

Science project or something?

I didn't come in with one on me so no dice for helping out that way. Not exactly a big thing yet where I'm from. Well, they're big but that's more size than being popular. I can check out friends though if you need 'em for somethin'.
