Hallo, this is Iskierka. [There's that familiar red snout pushed into the screen, but she settles back on her haunches and continues.]

I have spoken of this once before, though I suppose now is as good a time as any to bring it up again. It certainly could not hurt to have two dragons and their crews running patrols, could it? A proper crew must have a captain, and lieutenants, and of course a ground crew and bellmen and topmen and runners; all that sort of thing, but it would likely be easiest to have a smaller crew here. After all, we are not fighting a war here, truly. At least not now.

The last time I spoke of this, I had a few volunteers, but many people have come and gone, so I thought I might ask again. Korra, I would be quite pleased to have you on my crew if you still have interest. If anyone else does as well, of course, military experience is quite helpful to have. If you do not have it, you are still welcomed, but we shall have to train you. Do speak to myself or Temeraire if you should like to work with either of us, if you please.

I do not know, I cannot say I have ever encountered a magician before, nor had one on my crew.

But if you can fight, you will be welcomed.

What does being on your crew consist of, in terms of duties?

Well, I suppose that depends on if you are on the ground crew or the flight one. A flight one would likely be more helpful here. They must protect the captain, and handle the rigging and the bombs if there are any to be found here, and read signals from the other dragons. That should not be very troublesome at all, the only other dragon here is Temeraire; we do not even have enough for a proper formation.

I see. I was part of a military back home; it did involve working with dragons, though not how you describe. [Mostly commanding bros like this guy or this guy or this guy in battle.]

Oh, military experience is not necessary, at all; one must only have a good head for heights, which I expect you have got already, and what is more, you have experience with dragons in general, which speaks in your favor. And I should be quite pleased to discuss strategy with you, at any time; Iskierka rarely has the patience for it.

Certainly I do, for Granby is not present, and I am not very good with strategy myself. And you already know of dragons, so it will not be that difficult!

I have been thinking, Iskierka, that we might in fact do better to have a larger crew: not all at once, of course, but we might assign at least two people for each position, so that we might not be so inconvenienced should some of them--be sent home.

You do have a point, I suppose; but not very many people seem to have much interest. [She droops a little, clearly considering something, but it is a long pause before she comes out with this, very unwilling.]

Perhaps we might ...train them for fighting with you and with myself? Since there are so very few. [Ugh. Sharing. It's the worst.]

[Grudgingly:] Well, I cannot deny it is a reasonable idea. We might at least train together for basic maneuvers; and then we might rotate them, in turn, so they might grow used to both your flames, and my divine wind.

Works for me, I can always make time for those. I know some people have gone home, but more will come eventually and maybe some of them will be crew material.
