[It's been awhile since Charles has last spoken to pretty much anyone but he had a fairly good reason for his radio silence.

That reason being the psychic hangover from hell. It had caused him more complications than he'd originally expected up to and including his own powers sliding in and out of his control for a brief period. Not a situation he was inclined to admit to anyone else, even Ororo but unsettling enough that he'd kept to himself until he was certain he had full control over his facilities.

However, he is here today with a brief public service announcement.]

Ah, yes, so then small matter than some of you may have already been aware of but if not I feel it important to impart, none the less, that attempting to make direct mental contact with Tu Vishan should be avoided.

[There was a pause, a wince and then he muttered softly.]

Definitely, avoided at all costs. Not only is it depressingly unhelpful, it is particularly painful as well.

[Not that anyone else might have had the brilliant idea of attempting such a foolhardy unwise thing but what is the point of making a spectacular mistake if you weren't willing to share the results of your folly with the rest of the class.]

[In the time it had taken Ric to find a bar, Charles had cracked into his own personal supply of whiskey and was over to the side of the room reading kedan poetry.

Having his station ping, indicating an incoming response was a surprise, not to mention getting spoken to as if he was known to this person (he did not recognize Ric) and then that last bit. Charles looked a little prim (read prissy) at getting called stupid and he cleared his throat as he moved to sit down at the console.]

While the attempt might not have been completely considered in term of its potential negative impact, I would hardly term it as stupid.

[He said, taking a sip from his glass before setting that aside.]

And Tu Vishan is a very special turtle, who most likely holds the answers to questions about out situation that the Emperor is reluctant to share. It was worth the risk.

[He's possibly considering reigning it in if it means a chance at better alcohol.

Yes, it's this very special magical turtle that's ruled by an Emperor who's too hot for inbreeding, and I've heard the - you can walk.

I do not believe Tu Vishan meant to harm me. [Charles said, quick to reassure.] His consciousness is just, incredible.

[The last word was said with a sort of breathless wonder because despite what had happened and how badly he'd laid himself out, Charles was more fascinated than frightened by the experience.]

However his conscious is also overwhelming to the mortal consciousness, so I would not suggest making another attempt.

No, I know, Asti's not like that. [Percy doesn't seem reassured by Charles' words. Son of the sea god has a lot of turtle feelings ok] It's just, when I tried speaking to him and when Arthur tried as well, it was just like - I don't know, getting high. We spent like a day each totally blissed out. It didn't hurt.

[A faint smile twitches on his lips, but it only highlights the dark circles under his eyes right now] I definitely know what you mean by overwhelming.

[It's not much of a response but Charles is thinking on the level of contact he and the Doctor had tried and wondering if that was the reason for the difference. Because there certainly had been nothing blissful about the fallout, though Charles was convinced Asti hadn't intentionally harmed them.]

Regardless I do not suggest making another attempt, at least not in a direct manner.

[He could see the dark shadows under your eyes Percy and given the nature of their current conversation, couldn't help asking the natural question.]

I thought I had heard some mentions of encounters like that but I was never able to speak with anyone specifically about what had happened. [The dream visits had literally occurred right before Charles returned.]

Would you be willing to tell me a bit more about what you discussed? [And Kon-El was now the second person to mention that his encounter had been peaceful. It would appear that Charles and the Doctor had gone about things in the wrong way indeed.]

Ah, well in this case I mean that I made a specific attempt to reach out to Tu Vishan and did so while I was consciously aware of my surroundings.

[From what he was hearing, he would have been better off being patient and waiting to see if Asti came to him but at this time in his life, patience was not always a strong suit.]

I'm asking, because I may have a way to contact him as well - via dreams. So I'd be interested to see if I'd get similar results with my method, or something else entirely. Was it magic?
