[He's spent a day here already and frankly it's been a day too long. Though in that time, he has managed to find some heavy blankets which he's hung up over the windows to blot out the light. Some is still creeping in but it's enough to keep the place at a comfortable level of darkness. After spending a while watching the network as well and wondering what in the Demonweb Pits the thing is, his eyes are slowly adjusting to the light it gives it. It still hurts though, but it's interesting. Anyway, he's manged to figure out just what he's doing, ~~he refused to let the kedan help him except when it came to them bringing him here.~~ So Dinin is sat with the hood to his piwafwi brought up, managing to shield his eyes from some of the light.]

I don't suppose anyone knows of a decent armoury in this Lolth-forsaken place. [He looks disgusted that he even has to ask. But he'd drawn a dagger when he arrived and stabbed one of the kedan in their hand for touching him. Now the blade was dull and ragged from exposure.]

I don't see that as being a positive.

It is if for those of us living on the surface. If I spent most of my life underground, I'd take the low-light vision too.

You'd hardly make it a day in the Underdark.

There's more darkness in the light than the other way around. I know what I'd take regardless.

You might be surprised; I'm hard to kill. But long term survival would require me picking a better place to fight than somewhere where I can't see without a spell.

[Also the truth; Zel has night vision better than normal humans, but that requires some form of light, and casting his own spell would draw attention to him. And while fantasy caves seem to abound in otherwise-useless glowing fungus or rocks, Zel isn't going to count on it.]

If you can't see then you're as easy to kill as someone standing in front of you in direct sunlight. Perhaps a torch. [There's a smile there. A torch would help him to see, but in the Underdark it was more likely to attract all sorts of foul creatures.

He might be able to survive a little longer than most people who trek in the tunnels. The lower you get, the more chance of finding the fungus.]

If I want something that makes me an obvious target, a light spell doesn't take fuel and can be used to deter things that don't light bright flashes of light to their eyes.

I suppose your cave system is large enough that I don't have to worry about fires fouling the air though.

If yo mean the Underdark as a whole, then it covers the entirety of Faerûn. There isn't much in the way of a breeze if you get to the lower levels, so the answer is really, it depends.

Something must be keeping the air fresh, then... thank you. Not that I intend on visiting your home, but I've certainly been dragged into more places I never intended to go.

As I said, I doubt you'd make it very far to even consider it a visit.

This is a first, and enough when it comes to going places I don't want to be in.
