First, I want to apologize for my previous post. I promise, I've now learned about the use the inboxes, and it won't happen again. Anyway! My name's Cassie, and I have a question. Sadly, it's probably not a very. important. question that might help resolve the situation, here, just something I'm curious about.

I know people here come from different times... I mean, people who know each other and come from the same world. So, that means that some of us come from other people's futures.

If a friend - or enemy, I suppose - comes in, would you want them to tell you what your future holds? What happens to you or your friends?

Or would you rather let it be?

I mean, not like - going to the Emperor to be shown. Just - being told. By friends.

I hope it makes sense?

[ She gives a wave and then ... sits back a bit, the good cheer easing up. ]

Oh, and I've heard about the people who've suddenly gone. I'm sorry to everyone missing people, um. I hope they turn up all right.

I have no idea. I mean, it's probably good that the whole...issue [since saying the name is bad] is only on this world, but my universe--which is probably your universe too?--has dealt with stuff this intense before. It just seems that being able to drop a line to the Baxter Building or Avengers Mansion would clear this all up a lot faster that grabbing us at random, y'know? It's not like our friends would refuse to help if someone asked for it.

[Well, Namor might. But she means the formal superhero teams who aren't cranky royalty.]

That'd have resolved the situation way faster.

[It'd have meant that she couldn't be spending this time with her dad, but she's not anywhere near selfish enough to put that as more important than what's happening here.]

And, yeah, seems like it's probably the same universe...? At least the landmarks sound the same.

[Nita's got enough of that Sub-Mariner arrogance that she doesn't soften the question something like "this is going to sound stuck-up, but..."

Though I'm not really sure that proves anything. I mean, look at the two Thors.

I can't prove this or anything, but so far the only people who've recognized me are the ones from my universe, or a universe so close that I can't find any differences by talking to them.

Oh, wait...T'Challa figured out I'm related to Namor, but only because he's really smart, not because he knows his universe's version of me...if his universe even has a version of me.

... I think I must defer to your experience on this one.

Wait. Do you mean there are versions of... our world without Namor? How about Sue and Reed and... who's there, do you know?

Okay so? The universe where all the Avengers are really young? It's like 2010 for them and they have Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow and that's it.

[And their respective villains but she's not counting them.]

Plus there's a universe that I think only has mutants.

[She really needs someone besides T'Challa to appreciate how weird this all is, because the people from the weird universes don't realize it's weird.]

I mean just the X-Men, and not even all of them, as far as I can tell. No Fantastic Four, no Avengers, no anybody else. And their Professor X has hair.

[And is English but let's face it, the hair part is more important.]

[Cassie lets out a deep breath. For a moment, she thought all the earth was mutants - and while she has nothing against them, she's seen and heard enough of the hostility to be afraid that might have meant a war. And genocide. Only the X-Men as a team and a smaller one sounds... less terrifying, somehow.]

[Her eyebrows come up.]

Could it be that they haven't been founded, yet? I mean, if the Professor has hair, he might be young and all.

Oh man, yeah, he's young. Like my age.

[Nita forgets that not everyone knows she's in her 30s.]

Oh, wow. So maybe he just hasn't found any of the rest?

Maybe...

[She doesn't know X-history nearly as well as she does that of the Fantastic Four or Avengers.]

Anyway, there are a lot of weird versions of our universe, plus a bunch that aren't related at all and like half of them have never heard of the multiverse.

[Do they live under rocks? It's probably rocks.]

... to be fair, I don't think most people... I mean, most surface-dwellers, know about the multiverse in our world, too.

If I even tried to hint about something like that at school, my mom'd probably have gotten a phone call and a schedule with a therapist. For me, obviously.

My mom didn't really let me talk with them, once she got custody.

[And by 'them' she means... most of the superhero community. Especially after she got full custody.]

Why not?

[Custody battles happen in Atlantis sometimes, but at Cassie's age, an Atlantean would already be well into their military training and it wouldn't occur to anyone to try to keep them from talking to heroes.]
