[ Here is a blonde teenager, her hair in a loose ponytail, and her blue eyes curious. She's settled a bit, so. Here she is again. ]
Hey, guys!
First, I want to apologize for my previous post. I promise, I've now learned about the use the inboxes, and it won't happen again. Anyway! My name's Cassie, and I have a question. Sadly, it's probably not a very. important. question that might help resolve the situation, here, just something I'm curious about.
I know people here come from different times... I mean, people who know each other and come from the same world. So, that means that some of us come from other people's futures.
If a friend - or enemy, I suppose - comes in, would you want them to tell you what your future holds? What happens to you or your friends?
Or would you rather let it be?
I mean, not like - going to the Emperor to be shown. Just - being told. By friends.
I hope it makes sense?
[ She gives a wave and then ... sits back a bit, the good cheer easing up. ]
Oh, and I've heard about the people who've suddenly gone. I'm sorry to everyone missing people, um. I hope they turn up all right.

You don't need to go asking Loki questions. There's no telling what's a lie and what's true with him. [He's finally figured out how to make use of a decent encryption, but he's no techie.]
((ooc: You can let this one hang until we get further into our other thread if you want. But Teddy wouldn't pass up telling her how bad this idea is.))

I just. I don't think Billy knows about me. Or Jonas, obviously.
So it made me think - would he want to be told? Would other people here whose friends are from later want to be told?
ooc: Nope, it's all good - as you can see, this isn't what this is about. Ahem. <3 but thanks for offering!
video; encrypted oh look more pain =)
Don't. Cassie please don't tell him. You don't know what it could do to him. Just...please.
video; encrypted oh, my! Things should get better from here... probably...?
I thought I shouldn't. But I wanted to know if he'd - you know, that can be taken as keeping secrets? I wanted to know if he - and others, I guess - might have strong opinions on the matter.
But, okay. I won't.

[Because she knows this place can be hella tough to adjust to, for some people.]
I did go to the Emperor to see the future, so maybe I'm not the one to ask about this - but I didn't do it for myself, if that makes sense. I just... needed to know what was going to happen to the people I care about, back home.
It's a two-edged sword, and I'm still dealing with it, even though I did it months and months ago. If I had to do it all over again - I'd probably still do it, but I've also had a long time to get used to ideas like... losing people. Or knowing that I could die. Not everyone has, and that stuff can be hard to swallow. I think there's a good reason why, for the most part, we're not supposed to see our future.
video;
Thank you, Shepard. I... yeah, I thought so.
[She knows so, her heart is still hurting over Jonas. Deep breath, and another nod as she looks down.]
Yeah, I think that makes sense. I hope your people are okay. Is there any way in which I can help? To - deal with it, I mean. Or something.
[Shh, she's fifteen. But she means well.]
video;
And it helps - well, it's never easy to lose someone you care about, but it helps to know it's not in vain. And to remember the good they did in their life.

[Bart sighs and pulls his legs up onto the chair. This is already about to get complicated.]
OK. Example time. I knew that someone here is going to die and get reborn. And he asked me why people are weird with him sometimes. So I told him. It sucked.
[He runs a hand through his hair.]
One of my friends. I know he's a few months ahead of me. He told me that. But. I didn't ask him. Cause I've had future knowledge before. It doesn't change what happens. It just makes it harder to do. I'm not telling you what to do here. Just think about it, OK? Sorry to get all lecture.
[Sorry, she's stuck on that, for a moment. But she takes a breath.]
I'm - I was taken from a point where I was just about to die. I wasn't fully sure if I did, but I do know, now. It's - sometimes, people can't help reacting, you know? But one of my best friends doesn't know. He's probably from further back.
No, I haven't just told him. But I'm wondering if he'd prefer knowing? Because it's the kind of thing people should... probably get a chance to decide, right?
Re: [video, encrypted]
[Bart is fidgeting with the hem of his pants for some time after this. It's a normal exceedingly long break in the conversation, and he's deliberately letting his time perception slow down because, for once, he wants to go over what he's going to say in his head. Not for content, but tone - he can forget facts and get things wrong and that's fine. But getting upset and trying to say this? Not good.]
Dying isn't so bad. The injuries hurt like a bitch, but it's... I promise it's not as bad as whatever gets you to dying. Just. Think of something that makes you happy, and it'll be. [Over soon. This was harder to talk about than he thought it would be, even with the time taken to try and prepare. Plans never work for him.]
Aw... don't, Cassie. You're gonna make him go through it twice. It won't make anything better. I knew what was going to happen to me and I did it anyway. You can't change the past, and it's all someone's past.

But I have no future. I never did.
[ video ]
[ And she sounds it, too, sincerely, her voice caught in her throat. Then she adds, completely impulsively, because she's Cassie and trying to help. ]
I don't think you could have made your future wrong. If there had been one, I mean.
[ video ]
[Well, she'll blame Enjolras sometimes, when she wants to. Or the French Army. Or Cosette. In the end, it was always going to be Cosette's fault. Hers, and the man in the yellow jacket who came to take her away from them.]
I don't believe I was supposed to have a happy future.

The last time it came up for me, Dr. Richards was super-insistent that telling people their futures would derail the timeline.
[It hadn't worked out that way because Shenanigans, but she's not inclined to argue with Mister Fantastic about time travel in the general sense.]
He would, wouldn't he. Even if that doesn't stop anyone from doing it, anyway. Or doing anyone from what he's said shouldn't be done, at any rate.
[She... doesn't have a timeline to derail...?]
Nita's knowledge of current events--like, say, the death of certain Young Avengers--is sharply circumscribed, because time travel.]
Yeah, he kind of gave up on it when reality started unraveling, but only after Rich pointed out that reality was unraveling.
[Reed isn't the most practical guy.]

I actually did exactly that a couple months back. It was probably the most awkward conversation I've had in my whole life, for the record.

But would you do it again? And, more importantly, would you want to be on the receiving end?

[At that, Jaime falls silent, contemplating. He could hear how he'd die, or turn evil, or lose his powers, or failed spectacularly as a hero, but...]
I... guess I'd want to hear, too. Or I wouldn't stop whoever it was from telling me. After all, time's fluid, or it's supposed to be, isn't it? I might not be from the same timeline as them. I can change my future if I want to.
