[Time for a video post from yours truly.]
This may have been asked before but, what level of technology does everyone have where they're from? The more I've talked to people the more I've realized that where I'm from is...well, it's really far behind everyone else. Or at least it seems like it.
What sort of technology is normal in your world? Things that aren't powered by magic, that is.
[She is kinda sorta really curious, but anyone who answers had better be prepared to explain it in simple terms because no one has even discovered electricity yet in Ixia or Sitia. Heated baths? A luxury found only in the Commander's castle.

There's a lot of technology that isn't powered by magic back home for me. Like the consoles here? We have similar things back home, called computers. So much of my world is run with computers now.
video
Things like our consoles can run things? What kinds of things?

[There's not an ounce of condescending in her tone, like there might be in other circumstances. THIS IS THE SPREAD OF KNOWLEDGE TO HER FRIEND.]

[She will gladly learn from Annabeth due to the lack of condescension. That Annabeth is considered a friend helps all the more.]

[ It's a little vague and haphazard, aware she might not get it but not sure where he'd need to start. ]
We got into outer space once.

It seems common in more worlds than I would have expected that people can travel in space. Have you ever been?
video
[ He's pretty sure he should have lied and said no there but. Yeah, he was up there. ]
It's not common though. And it's not like we were going anywhere.

What's it like, being up that high?

( he says that so flatly. )
I prefer the technology end, myself.
permavoice;
I think I do too.
[Even though she has magic, there's the very real chance that it will at some point kill her so. Yeah. Having been trained to fear magicians, she's not a huge fan.]
What kind do they have where you're from?

[Because Bucky hasn't bothered with getting much in the way of paper - but then there was the present of a notebook, and he fiddled with matchstick figures in the corner, then it turned into doing them all the way down through the notebook, and when that corner is flipped, they move, so...]

[Oh gosh, that sounds pretty interesting. Okay a lot interesting and her face kinda lights up.]
I'd love to see, and I think I could be free in maybe thirty minutes or so? Where should I come meet you?

What's it like where you come from?
Different, like I said. Nothing like computers or cell phones. People ride horses to get around if they're rich enough to own one, and there are water mills and the castle has a system that pumps hot water to the baths but it's only there.
It's a lot simpler.

[It comes out just a smidge too quickly, and emphatic. It's also a lie, but she's not comfortable with the discovery.]
But where I come from, there's a country to the south of my territory. They have all kinds of magicians there. I don't think either place is advanced as here, though.
