Bonded couples usually experience some discomfort with the presence of a new mind alongside their own. It is usually an irreversible process and grows easier depending on their compatibility. With T'Pring, the bond was weak but stable. I learned to appreciate the warmth of her presence although she remained far away but we were a poor match and I could not access her thoughts or emotions.

I have not given the matter any thought. Having only just severed my bond with T'Pring, I am less than eager to enter into a permanent bond for a second time. The mental stress on my raw mental connection in that regard would be ... troublesome.
