I can't find him. It is as before, is it not?

He will reappear again as he always does. He will apologize that he had disappeared in the first place. He would not leave me on my own, would he? No, of course not... elves do not abandon other elves. That is not in our nature.

Is that not right?

Then that means that I may get to show you a new sight?

Why not? People [coughHalandBartcough] keep telling me I should get out more.

Let us go to one of those sweet little um... cafés. There is one I know of in the Earth sector, but we could go to one in yours.

Earth is just fine. I don't mind traveling out, though it might take me some time.

Well, I will always wait for you.

Fifteen minutes then?

[Should give him enough time to make it over, as well as provide buffer time in case something unexpected pops up.]

That would be more than fine.

And thank you for offering me this peace, my dear friend.

[Softly:] Of course. I'll see you soon.

[Admittedly, 'soon' ends up being five minutes past the scheduled fifteen minutes but he does show up nonetheless in a light blue jacket, puffing slightly from the cold.]

[ He waits outside their meeting place, and thinks more on how the Gods of this world should be punished. Well, who could strike them down? The heroes of this place? He wonders. Everything should be baptized in blood. Perhaps when the streets are red, the Gods will learn to appreciate what they have and cherish it rather than throw it away whenever they choose and without care for what it will do to those that are left behind.

His hands clap together to break up his thoughts as he sees Barry. The cold is awful, yes, but he feels warmed by the thought that he could tell the man just how handsome and attractive that he is over coffee. After all, this is all pretense, isn't it? So, while one side of his thoughts is dreaming of choking a few people in their own blood. The other thinks of how nice it will be to be on a date with someone who talks sweet to him. ]

Quite the slow walker, aren't you?

[Barry, on his end, views this as nothing more than a gathering of friends. It's odd, in a way, to think that he has friends here that aren't the ones he's already had from home because he's never been a particularly extroverted person. All the same, he likes people, likes learning their interests and what makes them tick, and it is better to have friends than enemies.

He flushes faintly at the comment as he waves hello, coming to a stop some feet away.]

I get distracted easily sometimes. [By kedan needing a little extra assistance.] It's a bad habit of mine. I'm sorry I kept you waiting though.

[ He shakes his head once. ]

It is what makes you an endearing sight to these eyes of mine. [ An absent-minded sweet man who has a beautiful heart. He wonders what it would look like in his hands. Oops. His two thought processes are bleeding together. No pun intended. Is that a pun or a play on words? Hm.

His head tilts slightly before he turns back to look at Barry, sizing him up for a moment. ] You look a little different than on the communicator. I guess nothing is like the real life, right?

[There's some puzzlement in Barry's eyes over Yaha's choice of words. He's not sure if he should take the seeming familiarity as a compliment or as something stranger, so it's with no small amount of gratefulness that he latches onto the second off-hand comment.]

They say cameras tend to add ten pounds. Or am I shorter than you expected?

[An inch shy of six feet is hardly short, but he has always been the shorter one of his closest group of friends.]

Maybe a little shorter. But no less handsome.

[ Yaha, himself, is six foot but that is only thanks to his six-inch heels. His shoulders give a very small shrug before he leans forward to smile more at him. Then pulls back to gesture to the door. ]

Shall we?

[Barry freezes at the compliment, a very 'deer in the headlights' expression present on his face. Of all the things to say, that was not what he was expecting. He can't even mutter a 'thank you' at it, too busy being embarrassed, so he just shuffles awkwardly inside and instead says meekly:]

That, uh, yes, let's go in.

[He's wondering if he shouldn't be starting to regret this outing.]

[ Hm? Is he not used to be complimented?

That is a surprise.

The elf stares at him for a time, but decides to be kind instead of cruel in picking at the response that he sees. He turns away to take the three steps to the door before pulling it open for Barry to enter first. ]

I would hate to enter and find you standing out here five minutes later. [ Yaha decides to be kinder in teasing him and his lateness. ]

[There's a wince in reply to that.]

I would have come in. I usually do, since I end up being a little late most of the time.

[Admittance of his bad habit? Probably not the best thing to do, but he'd rather come clean about the whole thing than have Yaha learn from repeated experience.

He makes his way inside, surveying the surroundings.]

Do you come here often?

Oh, so it is a habit?

[ He laughs a little, as he wonders the reason for why it is.

Stepping in after, he carefully closes the door. Not that it wouldn't swing shut on its own, but he'd rather it not make a loud bang. Seems unfortunate sound. Loud noises and the vexations to people's souls, yes? ]

I do not come here often. I'm afraid that this is the first time I've been here. I just... I have learned where things are around me. It comes from wandering around the same neighborhood over and over, I suppose.

[Barry can only sigh at that.]

Unfortunately.

[But let's not talk about his bad habits! There are far better - and probably safer - subjects of conversation at hand, including Yaha's own meandering habits.]

Why not step inside once in a while? I'm sure many of these place are interesting if you take the chance.

[ He turns to Barry. His hands slide behind his back to hold them at the wrist. ]

Oh, well... I worry people won't like me. It's nice to go place with those I know who like me rather than those that may not... and be enclosed in one place.
