(~~A million, of course, meaning the highest she currently knew how to code, which was a solid 60%. Thus, he theoretically could still hack it, should he choose to do so~~)

[It had been more than a week, and Midii was still at a complete loss. So much so, she was finally desperate enough to go to the Network for help. Something that, under most any other circumstance, she would never do. Which spoke volumes about the situation as a whole. And how she felt about it.]

[After more than a full ten seconds of silence wondering how to phrase her problem, before she gave up and just blurted out the first question that came to mind:]

How do you get someone to admit he's being a jerk?

Sit them down and try being frank with them and if that doesn't work, leave them alone for a while. Give them time to consider what you said.

I gave him a week. More than a week.

Yep. My dad is a stubborn, stubborn man. And I've told him off for it a time or two.

[Her eyes briefly lower at the mention of Julie's dad. She thought of her own dad. A stubborn, man, yes, but also too sick to be able to give into his pride.]

[She's quiet, thinking of her own dad and how he's been losing more of himself every day to everything going on around them. Her expression has saddened some.[

It used to. Even then, it took some serious effort.

Nope. Not enough effort in the world can sway his opinion. But, that's my dad. I don't know your friend. Maybe you have to change tactic? Try a different way of telling him he's being an ass?

There is no other tactic.

He's calling me by something I don't want to be called, and he refuses to listen to me when I tell him why I don't want to. I told him the truth. He didn't care.

I suggest just not talking to him. He'll either get it and apologize, or continue on and never get it at all.

It's his problem that his manners are pushing away a friend. Not yours.

I've already not been talking to him. [Not that they conversed regularly to being with...well, okay, semi-regularly. He had been teaching her English. And...other things; she was still pretty sure all the talks she had with him about Jack and Baby Tooth were, in part, the reason why she could hear them now.]

[Much as she hated to admit it, she did kind of owe the jerk for that.]

I'm not sure I like the idea of us never being...[again, the 'f' word.]...the way we were again.

I can understand that. It's a hard idea to be stuck with.
