[Hal's recording this from Barry's place and he looks uncharacteristically hesitant.]

I think Barry's gone. My ring can't find him and I know it couldn't find people when everyone did that ghost trick a while back, but he also left his-- [He belatedly realises he can't say Flash ring.] --wedding ring behind and he'd never forget it.

[He falls silent again as he figures out what else to say.]

It's like I just got him back and now he's gone again. [He hasn't worked it out, but it feels like in all the years he's known him, Barry was dead longer than he was alive.]

I never really paid attention to what people did in this situation, but I guess I should tell Bart to get over here. Anything else I should do?

[And then his mind makes the connection that last time Arthur moped about Mera being gone so if he follows this than this makes Clark, him and then he would be--

Actually, never mind. I don't need that kind of cheering up. This is only going to encourage misunderstandings.

Clark, do me and Barry act like a couple? [He's asking this completely seriously.]

[Where did that even come from? Not that Clark will ever forget how he was more than happy to let Flashstripper and Arrowstripper dance around him while the mere thought of Guystripper made him create a green wall without even thining about it, but he'd never thought of Hal as someone questioning his sexuality.]

There are a lot of kinds of couples. Some couples are friends- like Lois and I. So in that sense, you did spend a lot of time together? Is that what you mean?

[He's gaping a little bit because that answer did not help. That's essentially a solid yes and that everyone else who mistook them for a couple are perfectly justified.]

Does friendship have no meaning now?! I mean, you don't see people claiming that Superman and Batman are having a torrid love affair!

[What the heck, why are him and Bruce dragged into this?

Clark, being Clark has to fight the little blush that creeps to his ears but since Clark Kent wouldn't have any reasons to be embarrassed about what people thought of Superman and Batman's relationship he just lets out a laugh. To anyone that knows him it might sound slightly stranded.]

Some people do... think they should be together. Others like to fantasize they are? Or find the idea of them together- uh, hot, for lack of a better word. Ever heard of 'fanfics'?

[People imagine Clark and Bruce together... he could really have done without that knowledge.]

No... but I think I get the idea.

[All he wanted was to be sad about Barry, how has this gone to finding out that the whole world might think that he and the Flash make a good couple.]

What's this all about, Hal?

[He burrows his head into his hands and mumbles through them.]

Everyone thinks me and Barry are married.

[A pause.] Wait, what?

[Another pause. And then it kind of hits him. He'd been joking at the moment, still miffed at Hal because of the whole strippers thing... but maybe Mark actually took him seriously.] Wait, no I... might have had something to do with that?

[In zero seconds flat Hal goes from horrified by his life to really mad.]

This is your fault?!

No! [Both hands up] No, not really. Mark asked me about it once, but I thought he was joking? I didn't think he'd take me seriously, and not for this long.

And I don't know how you did it, but if he really believed that he was already convinced by the time he asked me anyway.

I never said anything so someone must have said something. And what the hell? I don't look gay!

[Nice stereotyping there, Hal.]

There's no gay look, Hal. Unless you mean having an emotional connection to another man like the one comrades in arms have, in that case I'm sorry to say you and Barry both did look pretty "gay". [Complete with air quotes and a pretty sarcastic tone.

Sorry, Hal, he spent too much helping Maggie fight so she could have her child's custody to let stereotyping slide.]
