He already feels like he is cheating as a journalist ever since his brain was suddenly granted with eidetic memory somehow when he got his powers back, it just doesn't seem fair to get money that could have gone to actual hard-workers that might need it. So at first, he doesn't pay much attention to Monet's announcement.

But then he thinks of something.]

[After cutting the feed, Monet takes a brief moment to compose herself before glancing over to Layla. To a stranger the lapse is unnoticeable, but Monet's always been more open around her friends. Poor fashion or not, Layla is one of the things keeping Monet grounded. Sure, she's met all these people and she thinks a few of them might be trustworthy, but at the end of the day, she lives with Layla.]

[Well, colour Kidd interested. This is the story of how there is one (1) pirate waiting at the desk, leaning casually against it, cleaning those very grimy pirate fingernails with a short knife. Kidd's mind is very still and calm on the surface, not a care or worry to be had, merely a faint curiosity.]
