23 ❄ ( VIDEO )

[ Jack has mostly been flying under the radar during the past month, keeping to himself. Though he's worked regular shifts at the Fishing Shop and at the Welcome Center, when he wasn't there he was often nowhere at all, away from the city. He doesn't intend to address the recent exodus of people from the city, even though he's taken many of them like punches to the gut. Instead he keeps his tone light, and focuses on something that almost never fails to put some lightness back into him. ]

So fun fact: turns out the kedan have something a lot like "Take Your Kids To Work Day" from back home and there's a group that still need some volunteers. Anyone want to help out some kids and let them shadow you for a day?

[Less so than she would have been prior to being brought to Keeliai.]

I've encountered other magically inclined beings here. You're the first one I cannot see, however. Is there a reason for that?

We are managing to communicate, and as I am not given to hallucinating that stands to reason that I now believe you do exist.
Winter? Yes, although it varies in length and timing between planets. As for spirits, no, I'm quite sure we do not.

[Perhaps she would be able to see him now on video?]

[Amelia likewise switches over to video. What she sees initially causes her to frown; the rooms appears to be empty still. But as she glances down to return to text, something seems to appear at the edge of her vision, vaguely human-shaped. Her gaze whips back up, and, yes, if she focuses on the center she can tell there's someone there.]

I don't suppose you would make half an ice bird.

[Why she couldn't fully see the other person was beyond her. She wasn't completely sold on the spirit of winter situation, but she believed the other person existed, so surely that should be enough?]

[Amelia's ears pick up when she hears laughter from the console, followed by a small flurry of snow appearing in blue light and a voice.]

I can certainly hear you now. That was a pretty little display, although not particularly birdlike.

[The figure on the other side seems a little more defined now that she's seen the ice magic. Maybe there is some hope for her yet!]

Ah, yes, that'll do.

[She is definitely seeing a person, but it's pretty clear she's still having to focus more than normal.]

I'm afraid I still can't quite make you out completely.
