Hello! [The video opens up to a nice shot of Ryou's smiling face, and he's even waving. He seems a little nervous, but it's not enough to deter him from pressing on. After all, if he's going to be stuck here long term he might as well get to know people.]

My name's Bakura Ryou, and I've been here fooor...about a week and a half. This only my second time using the network though, so it's nice to meet you all! I don't usually use things like this, but it's kind of convenient, huh?

[He's quite now, looking thoughtful and worried again. It's a few seconds before he starts up again.]

I enjoy playing games with my friends and cooking... I'm not sure why I was brought here though, because I don't think I'll be much help. The only wars I've fought in were imaginary.

[Ryou nervously fidgets, rubbing the back of his head. There's another awkward silence.]

Speaking of, I bought some tabletop games at the market, but I can't read the directions... Would anybody be able to translate them for me? I wouldn't mind paying for the trouble, since I know it's a lot to ask. [And a lot in general. The directions were quite a few pages long.]

[Ryou stares anxiously at the screen.]

Ryou has a feeling that miniscule amount of accidental sass isn't going to help matters.]

[Hawke just bores his eyes into Ryou.]

Huh? [Hawke can leer all he wants, but Ryou just looks confused.]

My cards? But I just bought them! I don't think you can play the game without them... You know, if you really want I can just pick another set up from the market for you. I remember where it was.

Oh by the Maker, I'm not trying to mug you for your toys!

[At this point even Hawke is starting to become confused.]

The cards you summon your monsters with. I'm talking about those. Did you fall on your head recently or something?

[Mugging for toys or mugging with toys are more likely than you'd think where Ryou comes from, okay...]

Oh, well... [Ryou shoots the older man a slightly indignant look over the video feed.] I already told you I'm not that person, so I don't have anything like that.

[But apparently the spirit of the Millennium Ring does?! That's not exactly a comforting thought.]

I don't know, I haven't met him! I-I mean, I have an idea of who it is, but... I can't really be sure.

[He's not sure if he wants to find out, honestly, but he has to.]

How can you not of met him? He's you.

[Hawke's not sure why he's humoring this but he'll give this 'Ryou' a chance. Who knows, maybe it'll be funny when this all comes crashing down around him.]

Because he's not me. [As wishy-washy as Ryou tends to be, that is one thing he is determined to be clear on.]

He's just a spirit. [Ryou looks sternly into his lap.] It's a long story, but if he is who I think he is, then he never even had a body before.

[There's an audible 'smack' as Hawke strikes his forehead with his palm before dragging his hand down his face. He mutters a few things under his breath before looking back at Ryou.]

Why do you people constantly associate with spirits? If you really want to be so self-destructive just drink, or maybe eat some hot coals.

[He wishes he could just hang up at this point. Hawke's body language, the way he's speaking to him; it makes Ryou feel like an idiot. It's not as if didn't already feel bad enough about everything he let happen...]

[Don't worry Ryou, Hawke thinks a lot of people here are idiots including your double.]

I suppose it's time to address the ogre in the room then. Will killing him kill you too?

[Doesn't he mean the elephan--oh no. Ryou's shock is silent, but obvious enough because of the look on his face.]

...What? [Was this guy really plotting murder?!]

What do you meant what? It's a simple question. Is killing him going to kill you too?

Ryou doesn't know the answer, but even more than that are the implications. If he says yes, is this guy going to run out and kill somebody because of him? It's not like he hadn't had time before Ryou got here, so why ask now? The spirit--he assumes--tried to kill this man. Why does he have to be involved?!

It's baffling to think he's even having this moral dilemma. It's not like Ryou should care after he nearly killed him once himself, after the spirit went and all those horrible things. In fact, he really wanted to be rid of him! But that didn't mean he wanted him dead. It felt horrible to even think it, and there was so much that could go wrong here. Ryou couldn't knowingly let something like this happen.]

...Y-yes. It will. [His good nature prevails in the end.]

Well, that's certainly going to make things more difficult in the future.

[Wonderful, now he has to play with kid gloves around Bakura should he ever try to kill Hawke again or this kid will suffer from it.]

S-sorry... [Ryou's lip twitch in an uncomfortable and forced smile. He's not sure if he just dodged a bullet or pulled the trigger here. Whatever the long-term consequences of this lie may be, he's really not looking forward to finding out.]

Resolving things peacefully always is better anyway, right?

He tried to kill me. He's gotten natives here killed with those monsters of his. Then there was the incident when he took over my dog's mind.

The only way things can end peacefully between us is if he chokes to death on a chicken bone.

...I'm sorry. [Ryou falters and apologizes again, this time with far more earnest than before. He can't even look at Hawke for the moment.]

Maybe I can find some way to help. If I see him. [It's the least he can do for his lies, and protecting somebody who didn't deserve it.]

I doubt anything can help him beyond a boot to the head. That's why madmen are mad. Better off you just stay away from him.

I have a feeling that's not going to happen. We're bound to bump into each other eventually, and... I need to find out the truth.

If you insist but I suggest bringing a club with you.
