[The video turns on, and Sokka looks at it with a moment's hesitation before actually speaking. He picked this up at the Visitor Center quickly, but that things like this could even exist still just were unthinkable. There's a bit of amusement playing at the corners of his lips and he stares on without speaking, followed by an eventual shake of the head. Disbelief is plastered all across his face.]

Okay, so let's set the record straight. I've been magically transported to some other world? That's... actually weirdly possible, even if that whole time-stopping thing doesn't sound right. I'll give them that one. Turtles that are the size of an entire city... I think I can wrap my head around. This emperor guy and that—

[There's a moment's hesitation, as if he were just about to actually voice Malicant's name aloud, but he thinks twice at the last minute.]

—other guy; I suppose that's fine too. Big metal city? I'm not sure the style fits me, but I know people who can bend metal, so okay. Weird spirit soul lantern things? [He pauses now, holding a finger to his chin.] I don't claim to be an expert at that spiritual stuff, but that's more than a little creepy if you ask me. But fine, I'll let that one go.

[But Sokka starts chuckling a little ruefully. Sure, all of these strange things are possible, but the probability is... well, he hasn't calculated it, but it can't be large. All of this story just sounds ridiculous to him.]

But a magical communication device that instantly conveys my thoughts across the entire city? That's where I draw the line. How can that possibly work? How can my picture get sent everywhere all at once? C'mon, that just violates every notion of common sense ever! It's ridiculous!

I mean, I guess if this thing were actually real, I should say something like [as he puts on a false air of sophistication for the introduction], "Hey everyone, I'm Sokka. Good to meet you!" But that's not going to happen, and I'm going to feel silly talking to myself. Yeah, this is going to be a dream, and I'm going to wake up any second. [Pause.] Aaaaaany second now. [Beat.] Juuuust wait for it. Right now... now... please, karma?

The rest of the world?

There's been several places. Somewhere that looks a bit like the northern parts of the Earth Kingdom, bordering the Northern Water Tribe. A jungle with some lovely ruins.

[They had reminded him of the Sun Warriors, but Iroh was not going to mention them, out of consideration for their privacy. ]

[Not that Sokka would know all that much about the Sun Warriors anyway; that was Aang's special life-changing field trip with Zuko, not Sokka's.]

No, no, a tea shop is good. Really good. I'll have to visit some day... [Sokka's not opposed to tea. And when it boils down to it, at least something that sort of reminds him of home is good to have. He really wouldn't want Iroh to open up anything else.]

So... really, a lot of places like home then? [He looks a little disappointed, though really he didn't know what to expect from the question, but perhaps he was expecting... something more exotic?]

Places I've been. Not quite 'home'. Even some of the Sectors hear are quite different.

{The Earth and Fire Sectors looked enough like the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation Iroh could imagine them being pieces of cities there. But the Water Sector had only superficial similarities to Water Tribe architecture -- it was the lack of ice -- and the Wood and Metal sectors were new.]

Okay, I'll give you that one. The Metal Sector is... how you might say... unique! Probably something of an acquired taste, and I haven't... quite acquired it yet.

[Oh well, such is life.]

I'll have to check out the other Sectors soon to see just how different they are.

Which one are you living in?

Well, Metal Sector. I've only had the chance to see the Metal and Wood Sectors so far.

You? Also, I suppose I should also come visit your tea shop one of these days. I don't suppose there's a map at the Visitor's Center or something for that?

There should be. I've spoken to Jack about it.

I'm in the Earth Sector at the moment, but I used to live in the Fire Sector. The shop is still there.

You always did say you were going to take the Earth Kingdom by storm. I guess you'll just have to settle for the Earth Sector, hm?

Well, I do like a challenge. I could try for all five sectors. Franchise the business out.

Whoa, whoa, let's not go all Ozai on this place just yet. One Sector at a time.

Perhaps my brother should have found contentment as a business owner. It would have prevented much sorrow.

And possibly created some that did not exist.

[Because it is Ozai. He'd probably end up in an epic battle with labor unions and trust-busters.]

I can't say I've had the privilege of meeting him. Well, unless you count wrecking most of his fleet of hot-air blimps. But I think you're right, even in business he'd cause no ends of trouble.

So is there anything else interesting that I should know about this place? I'm expecting Aang to show up fairly soon?

Well, I have a list of good restaurants.

[Because priorities. Iroh doesn't love meat as much as Sokka -- because, really, who can? -- but he does enjoy a good meal.]

You had me at "good restaurants." [Technically, that was the last thing he said, Sokka, but still, Sokka would do unholy things for a list of good meat-serving delicacies.] What's your absolute favorite? Anything completely unique to here?

All of the districts have their own specialties, and most of the plants and animals are unfamiliar. I'll get my list.
