[The image flickers on to Kara casually sitting in her chair, arm draped over one side as she pushes herself back, one booted foot coming to rest on the desk in front of her. A lit cigar is between her fingers – they’re finally dry -, and there’s a set of blacked out shades covering her eyes. ]
Guess saying ‘Galactica, come in’ is out of the question, huh? [She snorts, and ashes the cigar before putting it to her lips again to take a long drag.]
Peachy. [Brows up behind the glasses, and her mouth pulls into a smirk that’s lacking humor.] Sounds like we’re all going to be one big happy family here, doesn’t it? [She sounds SO pleased.]
Name’s Kara, call sign Starbuck. I go by either, so pick your poison. [Ash flick, and she pulls the sunglasses off and tosses them aside, grinning.]
Speaking of ‘poison’ – anybody know where the party’s at, or do I have to start my own?

--Sean, by the way. Call sign is York. Don't suppose you've ever heard of the UNSC, huh?
audio
Got a preference? And no, I haven't. Doubt you've heard of the Colonial Military, either.
audio
And-- uh, well, not really. Haven't gone by Sean in a long time, but I suppose I can go back to it, what with this place and all.
[ That bit about the military makes him pause, though. ]
They call themselves the Insurrection, by any chance?
[ He tries his best to keep his tone light and easy, but he's always been shit at lying. ]
audio
No.
...Why?
audio
[ The tone smooths out of his voice, at least. ]
audio
We've got our own brand of pain in the ass terrorists back home.
audio
Here's to hoping not here, I guess.

What sector are you in?
i just wanna chinhands at kara all day
Metal. How about you?
she's a pistol |D
Earth. I do have to say it feels damn good to have it under my feet.

Even if this ain't exactly what I had in mind.
[ He's been off and on ever since leaving Freelancer, anyway, but he still had to keep to ships as he and Delta never settled down anywhere too long ]
no subject
Yeah, I'd prefer to find Earth, but it's not a bad reprieve, I guess.
no subject
[ But now, he's curious. ]
So what kinda stuff do they say about Earth where you're from?

There's really not a lot to tell, to be honest. Earth is this ambiguous thing that no one really knows much about except what's written in scripture.
Like I said, humans left Kobol, home of the Gods a long time ago. The settled the twelve colonies, but there was a Thirteenth tribe that separated from the rest, and they settled on Earth. None of us have ever been there, but you can bet your ass we're looking for it.

[ He smiles, though, crooked as it is. ]
During the war, they had something set up where if your ship or whatever was gonna get taken over, you'd basically nuke all the coords to where Earth was, trying to protect it from being found. Basically if you were caught in the middle of a firefight and wanted to get somewhere, you couldn't come back to Earth, 'cause it'd risk leading the bad guys back.

Makes sense. Keep the home world safe. The Cylons knew where we lived, because we built them.

So when you made 'em, was it like an assembly line or was it like-- they had a mind of their own?
