[Console] (Video) ❅ The First
(She waits until she is sitting primly in a chair, her back straight and her hair braided neatly over one shoulder. Appearance is everything - or so she has learned time and time again. No matter how uneasy she feels, she cannot show it. Alayne Stone won't break.)
I am new to the kingdom of Keeliai, but I have been well-informed. (A small smile - one which doesn't reach her eyes - follows before she continues:) My name is Alayne Stone and I am from a world called Westeros. Should my world sound familiar to anyone, I am eager to speak with you.
(Though perhaps not meet. The fact that is standing on her own hasn't escaped her. She no longer has Littlefinger's protection.
The next part is strange to word, so she decides to just say it.)
Is it true that we are on the back of a giant turtle? I find that hard to believe. Even the largest of turtles are not spacious enough to hold a world, surely?
(What happens when the turtle turns the wrong way?)
Are there other creatures of such a considerable size? I should like to avoid the predators.
(The turtle should avoid them too.)
There are items which I will eventually need. Where might I procure them? Is there a market and some sort of currency?
(Yes, she knows she needs to focus on the things she can control. Otherwise... Otherwise...
She will lose the hope she has been able to retain.)

[As evidenced by her name. Though a noble by blood, 'Mistress' implied something else altogether; which was the point, really. Aoife delighted in discombobulating people and making them question at the same time.]
The fact that no one possessed any means capable of restraining her helped, of course. Regardless, outcast or not ... she would not care.
video;
(Or if she did, she took care of it quickly. She feels a tinge of jealousy over that thought.)
I do not even know how to hold a sword.
video;
[Ah. Ah, that explains far too much, and makes Anton's face soften.]
I can teach you, if you wish--though you must of course refrain from using it within the Hotel except during training.
video;
(Inside, she knows she must. She no longer has Littlefinger's protection and, well, she's not like Arya.)
...yes. I promise I will not use it within the Hotel, but yes, I do want to learn.
video;
[It probably isn't the best to admit he's five hundred years old when she's so new to Keeliai.]
A lady must always have the means to defend herself against whatever dangers a land might possess, regardless of what they are. It will have to be a daily lesson, so you might retain the body memory; we can arrange for such once you have arrived at the Hotel.
video;
I agree with you. Since I am without my father's protection, it would be best for me to learn the way of the sword. I shall follow the schedule you deem fit.
video;
[They would likely have to start slow, as she would need to build up the muscle necessary to wield a sword, even a short-sword; but they can work on form and posture with lighter wooden blades, and move up to the steel. He inclined his head thoughtfully, and speaks gently.]
Have you lost someone of late, Lady Stone?
video;
(And learning how to keep her hands clean. Metaphorically, that is.)
I am told someone from Westeros was brought here a year and a half ago. Did you meet her?
video;
[He speaks kindly but with the sort of unsurprise inherent in someone who has experienced life too much not to expect such things.]
I did not, I am sorry. I arrived only five months ago.
video;
It doesn't matter. I was merely curious about her.

Are you seeking to hide from someone?
video;
(Who cannot have auburn/red hair.)
video;
Everyone is of consequence. To themselves. To those who know them. My unit was commanded by one of the most famous generals of the war, one of the greatest men I've ever known, though his father's family never acknowledged him.
video;
(Like she was to King Joffrey and Tyrion...
She isn't even twenty and this is her third husband.)
video;
[He tilts his head.]
Who do you wish to be, Lady Alayne Stone?
video;
(Alayne is the person she wants to be; Sansa is the person where everything went wrong.)
I think men oftentimes value politics over matters of the heart. I wish they had a better balance so that I could have some say in the matter.
video;
[Gently, and speaking quietly, all the most quietly because that's just how Anton displays his passion.]
But this is not your land, Lady Stone. This can be your opportunity to break free of those constraints. If you wish to be Alayne, be the best Alayne you can be. If someone attempts to remove your say, deny them. Condemn them. Ask for help. Find allies. Refuse to be silenced. It is not easy ... but you can force the change. Some changes need to be forced.
video;
The moment is fleeting, of course, but it's something; it's the first step on a long road.)
I shall. Thank you, Mister Shudder.
video;
You are welcome, Lady Stone. If you should need aid in future, allow me to assist.
[ooc: If you'd like Alayne to stay at the Hotel long-term, the sign-up and status page is over here--just leave a comment and we'll get her a room. Details on the Hotel are there too.]
video;
(ooc: Just did! It'd take one worry off of her mind. She doesn't need a big room.)
