[Annabeth! Looking contemplative and a little distracted, like her mind is thinking a million things at once.]

Has anyone else tried... talking to the ghosts? They've been pretty reactionary to me so far, limited responses and the like, and I've been assuming that's the case across the board.

[There's the sound of a chair being moved, and she looks pointedly annoyed at something off screen for a moment, then comes back and purses her lips.] The one here's more annoying than anything else.

[A sigh and she blows air up at some of the hair in her face.] Also, the kedan keep talking about making landfall soon. I've been asked to pick up some things, but I was wondering what people might have heard about the land itself? I've gotten a little of the general layout already, and where to look for certain resources, though I'm sure there's more to it, and maybe they all know different pieces or things about it.

Huh. Hadn't heard that. [There's a few moments where she ponders it.] Though I'm a little skeptic on whether that'll end up being good or bad for us. Maybe a bit of both.

That about sums it up. We are not here for our reasons, after all. We're here for hers.

If she wants us to help her and the kedan combat a threat, it's still stupid to keep so much information from us. It only makes me suspect a pessimistic outcome, on our end.

I just wonder how the mainland relates to all that.

Since something went wrong when she tried to bring people here, I wonder if she sees some of us as more expendable than others.

She just said she'd been trying for years to summon people here, and that was the first time it worked - though the spell pulled in more kinds of people than she intended. That's what went wrong.

I wouldn't say entirely disregard. It's still better to keep her views in mind on some level, given how much power she has.

Really? Sounds like you should be getting plenty yourself, to be honest.

[Though acknowledgement can be good, too, she knows that.]

They were... rare, where I grew up. And most frequently means to an end.

[Mostly, the greatest compliment was living another day.]
