[Annabeth! Looking contemplative and a little distracted, like her mind is thinking a million things at once.]

Has anyone else tried... talking to the ghosts? They've been pretty reactionary to me so far, limited responses and the like, and I've been assuming that's the case across the board.

[There's the sound of a chair being moved, and she looks pointedly annoyed at something off screen for a moment, then comes back and purses her lips.] The one here's more annoying than anything else.

[A sigh and she blows air up at some of the hair in her face.] Also, the kedan keep talking about making landfall soon. I've been asked to pick up some things, but I was wondering what people might have heard about the land itself? I've gotten a little of the general layout already, and where to look for certain resources, though I'm sure there's more to it, and maybe they all know different pieces or things about it.

Looks like we have the same idea about the spirits. Annabeth, hi.

It's good to know I'm not the only one, even if we all end up having bad luck on that front. Hey, Asami.

[She grins back.]

How've you been? Besides the, um, spirits.

Not bad, all things considered. And the spirits could be so much worse. What about you?

I've been keeping busy. It's... interesting, I'll say that much. I've started another motorcycle.

[Which she sounds quite pleased about, tyvm.]

Oh? How's that going?

[In answer, she shifts out of the way to give Annabeth a look at the motorcycle in her living room. It's candy apple red and entirely custom built.]

I'm almost done. She'll be the fastest machine on Tu Vishan by the time I'm done with her.

[She quirks her eyebrows, impressed.] That looks really awesome. And sounds really useful. Is that a literal fastest machine or just talking it up?

Most of the vehicles here don't exceed seventy kilometres an hour at their top rate. Mine should go twice that, if the modifications I've made to the internal combustion system work out.

Okay, yeah, that really does sound super useful. Especially for exploration. I might just have to impose for a ride sometime.

No imposition necessary, Annabeth. I'd be happy to.

Great! [And she looks genuinely pleased.] You'll just have to let me know when it's finished.

Likewise. Are you planning on going to the mainland?

Mmhmm! Maybe a while after we land. I can't wait to see what's out there. Apparently it's where they scavenge most of their metal and alloys?

A good way to go about it, really. [Annabeth's just too much of a Hero Trope to wait, even if that would give her the benefit of information.] But yeah, I've been asked to pick up some metallic things. I'm pretty curious to see what it's like.

Do you think there's... any chance of there being a way home?

I don't know. Maybe. That's something I'll definitely be looking out for.
