[ Vergil was walking along the Water District when he started to broadcasting from welcome center radios he had gotten some time before. He had never bothered with the network before he was reawakened, but now he spent a bit of time listening when others speak. Today he chooses to speak. He has been idly far too long. ]

Greetings people of Keeliai, Foreigners and Native alike. My name is Vergil, many of you knew my brother, Dante. [ He expects a joke to be made soon, it always is.] My point for addressing you is I know he had his fingers in many things. I was not in a well state before he was spirited away. I would like to know, if anyone would come forward and tell me if you knew him, and just what he was doing. I am trying to piece together a puzzle. This is all.

[And Gene's in the lobby of the Hotel when Vergil arrives, waiting for him.]

[ Vergil had his hair spiked today, he finally got something close to Gel to use. And he was wearing a blue shirt over some black leather looking pants. The black coat of Nelo's was on as well as he walked. He at least felt more like himself, making his way over to Gene he looked him over silently a moment for scars from Valdis' attack.]

I see you are well.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Don't think he doesn't see that once-over, Vergil. Gene looks as hale and whole as he ever has - a testament to Katara's skills as a healer.]

No worse off than normal.

[And better for tracking Howard Stark. The man was in the Metal Sector today - Gene would cut this meeting short the instant the crimson ring told him that Stark was returning.]

[ Vergil didn't catch if he was caught on the once over. He owed a debt to Gene so he needed to be sure the guy wouldn't die. He moved and took a seat across from him, crossing one leg over the other. He moved much more fluid than Dante, as if he cared if he looked graceful or not.]

Are you and her on good terms again?

[wrathfulkhan]

We talked about it, [Gene says, sitting down as well.] I forgave her. I know it wasn't exactly her choice to use me as her chew toy.

[walkthedarkpath]

You are a remarkable human, to survive such an attack.

[ He was actually pretty impressed that Gene was already back on his feet and looking like nothing happened.]

Now, on to my point for asking you to speak to me. I have reason to believe my brother was up to something. Likely nothing serious, but he always seemed tired from my memories of the other. Like he was over working himself. I feel there are things missing I do not understand. Being as I am his twin, and in possession of his sword, I need to know if I need to be concerned that he was in any kind of debts.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene laughs a little to himself at that remark. A 'remarkable human'? If you only knew, Vergil.]

I'm not sure I'll be able to help you that much, [he admits.] I know a little about his doings, and we worked together to distract the enemy a few times.

[walkthedarkpath]

[ If only.]

Well, if you do not mind, I would like to hear all the same.

[wrathfulkhan]

He fought some of the kedan that had become cultists of Malicant, [he begins.] He fought alongside Tony, who knew him better than I did.

I'm assuming you've already asked Valdis.

[walkthedarkpath]

I had heard a little of the cultists from him, not much to work off of though.

And no, I didn't. I will i due time just not yet.

[wrathfulkhan]

I can tell you more about the cultists if you like, [he offers.]

[walkthedarkpath]

That would be helpful yes. [ He spoke as he sat back crossing one of his legs and giving Gene his full attention.]

[wrathfulkhan]

It would be too easy to say they were mad. Maybe some of them were. But most of them, I think, knew what they were doing; they chose to devote themselves to that evil creature.

They had poisoned weapons that could increase the taint of darkness upon us, make us vulnerable to falling under Malicant's sway.

[walkthedarkpath]

Sometimes men get seduced by evil.

[ As much as he hated to do it he quoted Arkham.] evil can be quite intoxicating, offering power you otherwise would never have.

[ He sounds like he knows this for certain.]

[wrathfulkhan]

Yeah, [Gene replies, looking down and scowling at nothing.] Yeah, I know.

Good thing we're past that, right? [Note the 'we', Vergil.]

[walkthedarkpath]

A work in progress.

[ He wont deny he's still on a dark path and trying to fix that.]

[wrathfulkhan]

Hm. Aren't we all.

[A bit of a dark turn, this conversation's taken.]

But we prevailed, in the end, over Malicant, and I haven't heard much about the cultists since.

[walkthedarkpath]

[ Vergil nods, but lets it go. As dark as the talk was, little signs showed he actually eased up. His shoulders relaxed, he placed his fingers against his chin as he leaned in the chair listening.]

And that is why the Kedan hate all of us, as Dante explained.

[wrathfulkhan]

Not exactly, [Gene says, shrugging.] They hate us because they think we were complicit in the spell that kept them dull and compliant.

[walkthedarkpath]

That sounds like blissful ignorance.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene snorts.] For them, or for us?

[walkthedarkpath]

Open for interpretation. [ He gets half a smirk from the elder son of Sparda.]
