Uh, does anybody know what's going on? Is this a thing we should be worried about? Because it sounds like a thing we should be worried about.
[HIRO HAS SOME CONCERNS.]
no subject
[Which may or may not explain why her hair was still wet. And her clothes. And her skin, for that matter.]
I don't know.
Flooding, plus electricity...that's pretty bad, right?
[Forgive the sarcasm. She was slightly cranky about having fallen into the water.]
no subject
Uh, well...it depends? Water by itself isn't as conductive as you'd think, but -
[...And she doesn't look like she's been electrocuted. She also looks cranky. Stay on topic, Hiro.]
- But that's not something you wanna mess around with, no. You'd need to cut the power supply before getting anywhere near anything in the water that's emitting a charge.
no subject
Yeah, about that...
[Still not 100% certain which parts of the station were emitting charge, but the sparks had been a bad sign.]
It's a radio station. Tower. Whatever you call it. The thing's still running; it's on some kind of generator, I think they said, so the floods haven't cut off the power yet.
no subject
Is the generator completely underwater, or could somebody get to it to manually cut it off? Without getting in the water.
no subject
At least, not the last time I checked...but it's pretty surrounded. I don't suppose you can fly?
no subject
[If he could fly, though, he and the top shelf in the kitchen would be having a very different conversation.]
...Where are you going with this?
[He feels like he knows the answer, but he has to ask.]
no subject
Ever want to try?
no subject
...I've thought about it, once or twice, yeah. Could give it a try, maybe.
[Yeah, this is going where he thought it was going. GJ signing up for generator repair and weird magic shit, Hiro.]
no subject
I can hold you pretty steady over the water, but once you're up there, the rest is up to you. Think you're up to the challenge?
[Pun quite possibly intended.]
no subject
...Lemme get my tools. I'll meet you outside the Hotel in ten.
no subject
I need to change first.
[Now that she knew how soaked she was expected to get.]
no subject
Of course it's a thing we should be worried about! Isn't that the whole purpose of a distress signal!?
no subject
I'm just a little concerned, because it's not raining and the snowmelt's already gone, that maybe, possibly, something's wrong with the turtle? And we might be sinking, or something?
no subject
Well then if that's the case I hope you've got some swimming trunks handy!
In the meantime, I've got to get out there to see what's going on!
(Not Here)
They said something about...flooding?
Higher ground! But of course they know this. They need something that...flies?
She ends up pacing restlessly in her room, hoping for more news.)
video;
That broadcast came from one of the new radio stations. Me and Gene are teleporting there to check it out. If you've got skills or abilities that might be useful for a search-and-rescue operation, we could use your help. Anybody who's coming, get to the hotel. The bus leaves in ten minutes.

But beyond that, there's no time to waste. Gene gathers them all together, and teleports them to the distressed station.]
