[ The broadcast starts in a blast of static undercut by a hollow sort of roar. It cuts in and out, wavering wildly, half there and half not. The speaker is a woman, but it’s difficult to tell at first through the static. ]

[ A wave of static, and when the voice comes back on, she’s gasping. ]

[ The broadcast cuts off. ]

[Well that sounds...not good. Too much interference and the signal's too garbled to really get much in the way of details, but definitely not good.]

Uh, does anybody know what's going on? Is this a thing we should be worried about? Because it sounds like a thing we should be worried about.

[Ironically enough, the science babble, she might have been okay with. It was relevant, after all, and while she had some knowledge of this area of science, she'd have hardly considered herself to be an expert.]

[Still not 100% certain which parts of the station were emitting charge, but the sparks had been a bad sign.]

It's a radio station. Tower. Whatever you call it. The thing's still running; it's on some kind of generator, I think they said, so the floods haven't cut off the power yet.

[Yeah, that'd make disaster relief and cleanup tricky at best, outright dangerous at worst.]

Is the generator completely underwater, or could somebody get to it to manually cut it off? Without getting in the water.

I'm just a little concerned, because it's not raining and the snowmelt's already gone, that maybe, possibly, something's wrong with the turtle? And we might be sinking, or something?
