Wan is gone.
[The screen will be completely black, as if she is trying to hide what a wreck she currently is. Her voice is broken, thick with emotion that she is trying, and failing, to hide.]
I don't know what cruel game this place is playing, but I'm done following along. Wan was concerned about the turtle...We all know that it is sinking and I know that many think that he is dead.
[Her voice levels out, perhaps even taking on a hint of anger.]
Some of you may remember how Wan and I possessed the great turtle in our attempt to force Malicant out. We failed in that endeavor, but we did gain the information we needed to defeat him. I believe that Tu Vishan is the one who gave us that information.
[Now the anger in her voice is evident.]
The cultists tried to stop us then and they are involved in whatever is going on now. With Wan gone, I aim to find out for certain if Tu Vishan still lives or not.
[A dark and soft chorus of voices echo her next words]
To the cursed followers of Malicant, your pathetic god is dead. Without him, you all are nothing. Try to stop me and I will send you into Oblivion.

Am I going to have to intervene of you doing something foolheaded?

I'm sorry for your loss. I know he meant a great deal to you.
[A pause. Raine is carefully considering; her mouth is a thin line. There's a lot she's not saying.]
I realize a request for caution will fall on deaf ears. However, if nothing else, be conscious that your pain is making you reckless.
[Remember what happened last time goes heavily implied, but unsaid. Raine does not want to have to drag Valdis away from the Void again, not least because she's not sure it can be replicated. A sigh, and then,]
If you need a healer...

I...don't know what I'm going to do without him.
[A low sigh and her voice evens out again.]
I realize that this might be dangerous, but Wan wanted to know what was wrong with Tu Vishan...It was important to him.
video;
Carry on. That's all you can do. Carry on, and remember him as well and as long as you can. Not just his face and his name, but the lessons he taught.
[That's almost wistful on her part. It's probably personal. Moving on, though, she resumes something of her usual businesslike manner.]
The endeavor itself is a worthwhile one. I refer to the broadcasting of it in such a manner, and the threats.
Just... be careful.

[Obviously this Wan person meant a lot to Valdis. He could hear it in her voice.]
If you need some backup, I'm there.

I'm sorry, Valdis, [she offers immediately, true sadness in her own voice. She's not close enough to actually feel it...but she's absolutely positive that the pain is there.]
You say you 'possessed' the turtle... will you try it again? [she ventures afterward, stepping carefully. She doesn't like the idea of possession, and with Valdis' powers as they are...she's wary, but curious.]

[She speaks firmly. She's counting on the fact that others, like their enemies, are listening in, but she has enough sense to not give them too much ammunition.]

I'll come to you then.

[He didn't know Wan, but he knows the turtle's sinking. And for his own reasons, he's not placing much faith in Tu Vishan's currently-uncertain status. He's convinced the turtle is dead. Sorry Valdis.
Also he has no idea you're the big hound from the hotel so forgive him if he doesn't seem to recognize you]
Even on the small chance it is alive and just playing sleeping beauty, I also wouldn't count on the possibility it might pull a deus ex machina and wake up in time to save us all from drowning. Shouldn't we, I dunno, be focused on an evacuation plan instead?

You have my condolences.
[That being said...]
However, I am certain that this--including his abrupt disappearance--is no game.

It's a figure of speech, Aya...I know it isn't a literal game. It's just that this is the second time someone I care for has been taken away at a landfall.
