Good evening, everyone. I understand that recent events and revelations have been... shocking, to say the least. I would hope that all of us will reserve any judgment until we have heard the whole story, including Doctor Milyn's side. And that is all I will say on that.

There is another matter that I need to bring to your attention, and one that is quite pressing.

We have been grounded a few weeks. As most of you are aware, the purpose of landing Tu Vishan here was to afford us more time in finding a way to awaken him. I believe a means may be found by utilizing the power of the Xunutane. However, before I go to the heads of the families and the Dexedi with this request, I had hoped to gain both information to see if it is a viable means, and also input and suggestions from other foreigners.

Now something most intriguing occurred while I was making my inquiries- my path crossed with a number of metalworkers who were researching the crystals that caused last month's truth compulsion. I agreed to work alongside them in a number of experiments - one of which involved setting active crystals alongside those that gave no readings. There was a brief reaction in which the "dead" stones gave off a bit of light and I...

[He hesitates here because it's not so much that it sounds absurd, but more he simply doesn't have the words to describe it.]

...I saw many things, all at once. The interiors of caves and homes. It was as though I had hundreds of eyes all in different places.

[To tell the truth, he was rather disoriented after the whole ordeal and needed to go sit down and have a headache.]

Needless to say, the other metalworkers did not share in this vision. I believe it came about due to my soul gem - a hypothesis the metalworkers agreed to be possible, though I would like to repeat the experiment with other foreigners to verify. They have kindly permitted me a secure facility as well as aid in writing up questions.

As I'm sure you've gathered, we would require volunteers for this. I am seeking those willing to sit through the same experiment as myself. I am also looking for people with psychic or magical capabilities for getting a read on things.

I will ask that no volunteers be under the age of eighteen for these experiments as I cannot guarantee there is no risk involved.

If you would prefer more discretion than speaking here, you can contact me privately on this frequency.

I thank you, and bid you all a good evening.

I have something to tell you all, and some of you might not believe me.

[Valdis' voice is hesitant, halting and uncertain]

There are very few of us left, it seems, who remember Malicant's reign or the atrocities committed by his followers. The death, the taint, the drugs and the suffering inflicted upon foreigner and Kedan alike is unknown to all of our newcomers. But this isn't just about that.

[A long pause, followed by an audible breath]

I have recently discovered that Milyn, the Cherrywood Healer, was involved with the Cultists. She reported directly to Daseng and created the drug known as Dust, as well as the base for Lucid.

[Another pause and then a low growl.]

She was our only ally among the Kedan when we first returned from the Dreaming, she aided us in defeating Malicant...but she also helped him wreak his havoc in the first place.

[Another growl]

I don't know about all of you, but I can't trust her anymore.

[The voice that comes over the radios in the evening one should recognize as Yuri Lowell, though he does sound a little strange if not a bit pissed off. Probably because he's got a bruised and swelling jaw.]

What's up with the Snakes lately? They're slacking off and being a pain more than usual. Had to break up a fight in the bar while they just sat there. They've been harassing me and my guild members lately too. Nothing physical but it's pretty annoying. Did someone ram a stick up Yunxu's ass or something?

Ow... Dammit.

Ssssoooo...

[Cue one Nurse Fletcher, sprawled out in a chair in one of the cafés, a cup of tea sat before him that he's idly stirring. It's his lunch break, he's allowed this.]

I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be much of a nightlife around here. Or, at least, one that people don't use like they should. I am, of course, talking about most of the Foreigners around here. Seriously, guys, you gotta blow off some steam at some point.

[A pause.]

And I ain't talking about bashing one another to bits in that arena on Tavimbi. I'm talking about going for a pint after work, or going on an all-night bender, getting mortal and waking up regretting stuff.

[Another pause.]

Not that I'd recommend stuff like that on a regular basis, but, hey. It works. Besides, a bit of social lubrication can help get people to know each other better.

[He then stops, scratches his cheek, raising the cup.] Of course, I might be completely wrong about everyone being boring and not spending time with each other. [Slurp of tea.] So, if I am, you'll have to come and prove me wrong.

[She was wearing sunglasses again.  Although, this time, rather than the pasta-themed pair donned in celebration of her and Tim's private joke...she was wearing a simple--yet still stylish--pair of dark shades.  The kind that concealed her eyes from view completely.  Combined with the way her head tilted down ever so slightly, along with the occasional wince as she spoke, and it was clear she had a reason for wearing them beyond fashion.]

Okay, first of all?  Anybody who's been getting the idea to go join that Fight Club over in Causeway?  I so do not recommend it.

[Don't ask.  Please.  The answer was way too embarrassing....]

Second...and this is just a shot in the dark here...but I was wondering if there were any tech-friendly people know anything about programming games and stuff?  Mindless entertainment or even educational.  I'm good with either option.

I must commend whatever force that brought me from Ivalice to the back of a giant adamantitan. I didn't think anything could surprise me anymore, but here we are.

[He gives his most devilish and debonair smile. It makes him look just a little more charming and a little bit dangerous.]

I imagine introductions are in order.

[And he gives a curt little bow.]

Balthier, at your service.

And if I may pose a question - no, perhaps more a request -

What are the best pubs in the city, and what holes in the wall would one generally prefer to avoid?

[The video shows a posh interior scene--silken curtains, low sofas, cushions, and more pretty people wandering through the background of the video than you can shake a stick at. It's luxurious. Almost flamboyant. Which, amusingly enough, is still no match for the flamboyance of the person in the center of the video feed.

Yep, it's Rue again. He's been missing in action since the night of the Masquerade, and missing from the network a little longer still, but here he is: he's wearing the closest kedanese equivalent of a frock coat, sky blue and satiny, with frilly cuffs and a wide-brimmed hat as usual. What little face can be seen beneath the hat is powdered and rouged and bears a perfect smile of lipstick. He's even found himself a fancy cane with a silver handle in the shape of a flower.

He's back, and he's addressing the network from what looks like a brothel.

When he speaks it is, as always, in a high-pitched, nasal English accent.]

Good morning my darlings--or is it good evening? I do believe I've lost track of the hour.

[He waves a hand imperiously, dismissing the thought.]

Anyway! It has come to my attention that we've arrived at our destination. A new land to explore, new peoples to meet, et cetera et cetera. So tell me, my dears, what have you seen? Is there anywhere on this new rock I simply must go for myself? How is the culture, darlings? The fashion?

...or if you've not yet gone yourself, would anyone care for a companion?

[There's a suggestive little smile at the end, there.]

[Radio - Locked to Raine]

Professor Sage? I need help in the Hotel, whoever you can spare.

[Console - Open]

[Shay looks... flustered, to say the least. Like he's been rushing around.]

Has... Anyone had a soul gem handed to them? I'm not sure what it would look like, but... We need it at the Midnight Hotel right away.

[There's a note of urgency to his voice, for sure.]

[Deon's been reluctant to go on the network about this - likely because if Vincent's around, he'll probably pop Deon one in the jaw for getting in his business.] Um...has anyone seen Vincent Moore around? Tall bloke, built, bit of an, ah, bit of a bad attitude?

I'm worried something's happened to him.

[The man appearing on the screen is one Yuri Lowell, but anyone who knows him might notice that there's something different about him. It's subtle, but it's there. A certain look in his eyes, as if he'd been through some really tough battles. Even his voice sounds a little worn.]

Hey guys, remember those Kedan with the soul gems that disappeared and we dreamed about being in some of our worlds?

Well, they actually are there. Milyn sent me home for awhile and I saw the one I dreamed about and talked to him. At the time I had no idea who he was and didn't remember until I came back. But he definitely knew who I was.

I regret to inform you all that it seems Miss Lazuli has returned to her world.

For those who were her friends, I am deeply sorry.

[There's a moment where he shifts, eyes flicking downwards, but he's back to his usual attentive self in a moment.]

This may make things with the upcoming move tricky - while I'm informed that the tidal surge will be more than enough to dislodge Tu Vishan, Miss Lazuli was one of our primary movers.

I would ask then for anyone who has control of the elements of wind or water to lend your aid in keeping the turtle as steady as possible. I would also ask for help in ensuring buildings are structurally secure. We suffered some minor issues during the primary move, and while I don't foresee disaster, it is better to be safe than sorry.

When the time comes for landfall, any aid in anchoring would also be much appreciated.

[The welcome center was back to normal, and so was Zatanna.]

[Well...mostly.]

[Neither her voice nor expression carried the weight of sadness any longer, but there was definitely something off.  Different.  It was subtle, but if one paid close enough attention to the video feed, they might start to pick up on a few things.  Such as the
six different pasta necklaces hanging from her neck...the pasta crown atop her head...the pasta bracelet dangling from her wrist...and a very interesting pair of sunglasses.]

So, I don't know about you all, but this weather has given new definition to the meaning of the word suck.

[In that, whenever she went out, it started to suck some of her magical energy from her.  Get it?]

For those of you that agree, but still need to go out for one reason or another, I just wanted to give a heads up that the Welcome Center is always open if you need a room to crash in for a few hours at a time.  There's no fog in here, and I've been looking into getting some new games in order to pass the time.

Any requests in particular?

[Around about lunchtime on the first of January, every console in Keeliai beeps with a city-wide announcement. While the announcement initially plays without prompting, it can be replayed and re-accessed at any time, ensuring that not a single citizen or Foreigner misses it.

It's Tu Yunxu, broadcasting from inside his study at the Snakes' mansion. He looks as immaculate as ever, dressed in a silken suit with gold thread used liberally throughout.]

It's come to my attention that several people have managed to extract considerable quantities of salt from this oppressive fog. I'm offering a bounty to anyone who chooses to turn their salt over to the Snakes. Prices are negotiable. You will, of course, not be punished for choosing not to take me up on my offer - I am by no means instituting a salt tax. The salt doesn't appear to be dangerous, although I wouldn't recommend ingesting it.

This offer is open to Foreigners as well. I'm sure some of you have been... experimenting.

Thank you.

[And the announcement ends.]

[Yuri appears on the video feed with a strange noise coming from somewhere off screen.]

Hey guys, I've got a couple of announcements to make.

First of all... have any Kedan lost a baby?

[And now Yuri lifts a small squirming infant up for everyone to see, the source of the strange cooing noise. The baby Kedan looks healthy and happy enough at least.]

I kinda found her by herself last night. So if anyone's missing a kid, or know of anyone who is, just let me know or stop by Brave Vesperia's new guild front in the Sky Sector.

And speaking of that, my other announcement is that Brave Vesperia is now open for business in our new official guild house. We're accepting jobs and new members.

[The baby squeals and tugs at his hair.]

And uh... trying to find this kid's parents.

[Zatanna appears with a smile on her face and a...rabbit on her head.   No, not the same one that seems to have been going around from person to person.  This one was actually stuffed.  Cute in its own right, but very much nonliving.  Still, she didn't want to feel left out in the festivities.  Plus, she had her own reasons for donning it.  One that, believe it or not, involved neither tophats not magic tricks.]

Funny story.

I checked the calendar, and it looks like national all-you-can-eat day is coming up   [Translation: Thanksgiving.]  It's a great opportunity for me to flex my amazing cooking skills...but I'm almost starting to run out of ideas.  Want to keep things fresh each year, you know?

Anybody here got any favorite recipes that might offer a fun challenge?  I'm open.  I'll even cook meat.

[She won't eat it, of course, but she'll cook it.]

So...uh. Hypothetical medical-slash-metaphysical question...

But it is also quite urgent.

Wally speaks with the most affected accent: that of a teenager running a D&D campaign, feigning the voice of a wizard.

That's exactly what he's doing. He's trying to look more professional and wizardly than he really is.]

Good morning, my friends! This lovely day, I awoke to the sun reflecting off the shell of our gracious host, the great swimming turtle -

Which - ah. May or may not be dead. And it wasn't actually the shell, it was a building with particularly reflective windows. But you get the point: lovely, lovely day.

Who has plans today? I have a strong desire - a hankering, if you will - for adventure, and am in search of a party for just such a campaign. I seem to have missed all the excitement with the Chihuahuas - terribly disappointing, I love those little ratty beasts - but I'm sure something else will come along. Now, I find it best if my parties consist of one thief, one swordsman, one bard, and possibly a Paladin or a Monk of some sort. You know. Religious types to keep an eye on our immortal souls and summon the powers of the Otherworld for their righteous cause.

We also need a quest.

I do love questing.

[He has literally never been on a quest.]

I think I'll hold auditions. Please submit your name and work experience to Wallace Sheldon Everett, Wizard, by noon. I'd like to get a much earlier start than that, but I also understand people have other obligations.

[After having spied on the Justicar, Yuri's been trying to get any glimpse of the search parties in the city that he can. They've been rather slippery the past few days though, and it's been a bit difficult keeping tabs on them all the time. But on the 20th, he does manage to spot something going on, and his voice will come clearly over the handsets.]

Hey guys, there's something going down in front of one of the Kedan's homes. One of the Chihuelan search parties is trying to force their way in.

...

Aaaand now they're calling for back up.

That's it, I'm going in. If there's anyone that can help, get down here.

[Yuri will then give instructions as to the location of where it's happening. After this, his radio goes silent. People can discuss things but Yuri won't be replying.]
