Audio - Backdated to 7/30
[Audio only is rare for Toph. Usually she doesn't even bother to toggle the settings; it doesn't matter to her whether she's seen or not. But today, right now . . . it's audio only, and her words come out hard and flat.]
Last night I had a dream. About a kid with a woman who was teaching him to earthbend. He pretty much sucked at it.
He was wearing a soul gem.
[There's a pause. For a long moment she says nothing else. But the silence is almost tangible in its thickness.]
He was home. My home.
[There's an undercurrent that runs through the words here, dark and weighted.]
[It's rage.]
((ooc: Toph can only "see" through seismic sense, so although she dreams, she still doesn't see images in the traditional sense -- and can't see color. So for ooc puzzlings, I shall pass on that the boy's hair shifted colors in the dream in case it's important and matches up with anything else.))

[He's not sure he CAN connect the dots, but he appreciates the blind faith. No pun intended.]
Sounds like things have been worse around here than I realized. And you think this dream might be real?

[Because it's totally normal, okay? Magic is some kind of mystical stuff you can't explain. Maybe close to what Aang does with anything involving spirits.]
A lot of people move the elements back home. We're born with it.
[Back to the other matter at hand.]
Seems straightforward to me. Kedan get soul gems, which we have, but they don't. Kedan vanish, like we vanish from home. Kedan end up in places they shouldn't be, like we end up here. Kedan end up with powers that we should have if we're home.
Considering other people around the turtle had pretty similar dreams? It's not just a coincidence.

[He's quiet for a long moment, considering the implications of this.]
But we have no idea who's doing this, let alone how to stop them. Right?

[As for the rest . . . even though she talks about the world screwing them over, Toph isn't sure she believes in anyone doing all of this consciously. In fact, that's part of the problem -- that this all could well be the randomness of a twist of fate rather than someone at the wheel she can crush under a rock. It's metaphysical. Spirits. Something she can't grab onto or grasp.]
[And she hates being messed with because the universe thought it might be funny.]
No saying there's anybody. Any more.

What do you mean, 'any more'?

Back when I first came, there was an Emperor. Eshai. She was the one who yanked us out of our worlds and put us into other bodies. Said she needed us to protect the Turtle. From Malicant.
