[Aang takes a slow measured breath before speaking.]

Hi. I'm Aang. I don't know if we've met yet, but...I'm hoping we do.

[He manages a small, hopeful smile that lasts for a fraction of a second. If you blink, you might miss it.]

Chances are good though, that you know some of my friends. General Iroh, Sokka, and Katara. They know a lot more people than I do, and so I want to make sure that all of them know that they went home.

[This is a lie. Aang doesn't know that they actually went home, but he's choosing to believe in the reality that they did. Because the thought of any of them being stuck in the void for who knows how long is...no. They're home. They're just home.]

Anyway, I know I'm not much of a substitute, seeing as I'm no where near as wise as Iroh, or mechanically inclined like Sokka, and I can't heal like Katara, but...I'm still an Avatar and I'd like to help.

So if there's anything that they were doing that you'd still need help with? Or that just needs doing? I'd love to try.

It does, it should. I talk to my past lives all the time, and I think I can only do that through Raava, it's just...she doesn't talk to me. She acts through me, but...until I met Wan here I'd never spoken to her.

[A small pause.]

I guess ten thousand years is a really long time to keep having the same conversations.

[Ten thousand years...That was a long time...]

Would you be willing to meet with me? Just to see if it has?

Of course.

[He says without any reservation at all.]

Can you meet me at the Hotel?

When? Now?

[Because...that's a thing he could do now. He's not doing much of anything else now.]

If...you are not busy, that would be wonderful.

I...sure. I've gotten the word out. Let me just get my glider.

[Glider? But if he was the Avatar, then perhaps it had to do with air? Wan could manipulate the air, so his reincarnation most likely could too.]

Ok.

I'll uh...

[He pauses to look around the room behind him.]

I'll be there shortly.

[And with that his screen clicks off.]

[Aang is pensive as he glides towards the hotel. He's not entirely sure what to expect when he sees this woman. Will it be like all the other times he's encountered people and places that have meant something to his past lives? Will he just know? Or will it be more like a pull, like the sensation he had with Korra and Wan? Or...something all together different than either of those?]

[He's just not sure.]

[And so when he lands, clicks his glider-staff closed, and walks into the hotel...he's not entirely sure what he's walking into...]

[She was waiting in the lobby when he arrived. Uncertain of what to expect, worried that perhaps he wouldn't remember, afraid that she had truly lost Wan forever. But the soul that she felt approaching was familiar, though it was entirely possible that it was because she had met Aang before and not because he shared the same soul as Wan.]

Hello?

[He knows her the moment he hears her voice.]

[Not because they were just speaking, or because they've met before. This is different. Different in a way he can't give words to. He just...knows]

[It's like how he just knew which toys to pick, or Roku's name without being told. The knowledge just breaks open in his mind and floods his entire being.]

[He swallows hard, and when he speaks, his voice cracks ever so slightly.]

Hello....er...hi!

[She could sense Raava's light, sense a part of Wan in the young boy that stood before her. She just looked at him for a few moments, fighting back tears. He felt the same as Wan did, the same warmth, the same light that her closest friend possessed.]

It is you.

[She said quietly, a smile crossing her face]

[He smiles instinctively, his heart skipping a beat, as if this was an close friend of his he was seeing for the first time in a long time.]

Wow. Yeah. Um...hi.

[His cheeks flush slightly as a thought darts through his mind: Is this how it would have felt to have been able to meet Roku's wife and Children? Will Korra feel this way when she meets Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko for the first times?]

Hi.

[This was so strange and she wasn't entirely certain how to respond. Aang was his own person and she had to respect that, he probably did not know what Wan had known. But at the same time she was relieved that Wan wasn't gone forever.]

I suppose I should introduce myself properly. My name is Valdis.

[Aang bows in greeting. First shallow, as he would to an equal, but then catching himself he bows lower...in the manner one would when showing greater respect.

She isn't his friend, even though she is.]

It's an honor to meet you, Valdis.

[She was a bit confused by the bow, but it must have been an Avatar thing]

It's an honor to meet you too.

[She had known Wan, and now she had the chance to know someone connected to Wan. It was nice that her friend wasn't gone forever, and it was also nice to make new friends.]
