[Right off, what will be remarkable is that China has enabled video; those familiar with her network habits will probably recall she doesn't usually.]

[The second remarkable thing is the small fluffball she's holding cradled to her chest. It's a rabbit. It's small, it's white, it's adorable, and it's got a collar around its neck with a soul gem. Which means yes, the small animal China is cuddling is none other than Erskine Ravel.]

[She's stroking the bunny very nicely.]

I wonder. Wasn't some fine gentleman giving us updates on the weather, occasionally?

I find I miss his gardening tips.

[She sounds and looks entirely earnest, blue eyes wide, face innocent, and she pauses only a moment to scratch behind the bunny's ears very delicately.]

And some sort of a forecast would be useful, I think, as things turn cooler.

[This is completely and totally the only reason she's made this post. Really.]

I'll stand by, then. And it's amazing what you can get done when you don't get distracted by things, even if it can lead to you losing track of time.

In other words, you've shut yourself away from the world in favor of pursuing the great mysteries of science and industry?

I do hope you've remembered to eat, my dear Professor.

[Said idly, though. She knows how scientists get.]

Though evidently you haven't expired in the interim.

I'm not that bad.

And I have a timer to ensure I eat at least once a day.

[China laughs.]

The fact that you must needs set a timer tells me you are, regrettably, 'that bad.' Would you care to revise your estimate?

I take steps to ensure that if I was that bad - which I am not - it wouldn't matter. Which therefore makes my foresight good.

[inkulcation]

It makes your foresight good, certainly. But if you didn't have the timer, you'd forget to eat, would you not?

[There's a reason he developed such a habit, after all.]

Of course not.

Eventually, I'd realize I was hungry.

[that's not forgetting. but- it's clear that he's mostly just teasing.]

Would you realize it before you fell over?

[Lightly, innocently curious.]

You're not the first of your sort I've known, dear Professor.

I'd like to think so. [MAYBE.]

Truthfully, Professor. How many times have you fallen asleep in your lab?

[Arched eyebrow. Still smiling, though.]

Here, or back in San Fransokyo?

The fact that you must needs make that distinction...

Just clarifying, China. And only about a handful.

[inkulcation]

[She cups the hand that isn't steadying the bunny in the camera's sight, fingers loose, and makes a show of considering it, with another skeptically arched eyebrow.]
