[ Kara spends some time familiarizing herself with her surroundings before trying to send a message. It's all very strange, very alien, but no more so than Earth is. Once she feels collected enough to do so she turns her attention to the console. It isn’t quite like anything she’s ever used before, but the technology is close enough to what she’s used to on Krypton that after a bit of fiddling around she manages to get the video feed on and recording. She takes a deep breath and addresses the network. ]

I’m told that people are brought here from all over the place. If that’s true, and you can all understand me… [ She doesn’t really get how that works, but she sincerely hopes that it does. Otherwise, she’s on her own. Again. ]

I need to know. How many of you know the planet Krypton? And what do you know about it?

[ She almost adds a ‘please’, because if nobody here has answers for her then she won’t know anything until she returns home. If she returns home. But instead she clenches her jaw and turns off the feed. ]

I'm from the planet Krypton. We don't have animals like that there.

This is what the city was built on?

Yeah, they're slow and have bad ass shells that they hide in and stuff.

[He takes the picture down and draws on it some more. When he puts it back up, there's an arrow pointing to the top of it's shell that says "WE ARE HERE."]

I've never seen one big enough for a city to be built on before, but I've seen weirder things too, I guess. [Like his home school that's on top of sentient land...]

What's Krypton like?

I've never seen anything like that. [ Of course, because of the gravity on Krypton they haven't been able to manage space travel. So she hasn't seen that much outside of Krypton itself. ]

Krypton is... [ How do you describe an entire planet? ] I'm from the city Argo. It was beautiful, full of life, art, music... [ She misses it. ]

It sounds like a really nice place. [And he means it too... At least until he just has to go and ruin this reminiscent moment.] Are all the girls there are pretty as you are?

It was- Oh. [ So it was a compliment then. Well that's... actually a little weird coming from a guy who looks like he might be made of rocks? Do rock women look like Krptonian women? ]

Um. I don't know. My mother is prettier than I am.

I don't see how that's possible. She'd have to be a goddess to possibly be more beautiful. [He really hopes that rock women look like Kara.]

It's not really sweet if it's the truth, is it? When I was told about this being some kind of in between of life and death, I was expecting zombies, not babes.

What's a zombie? [ She's going to take a wild guess that they aren't terribly attractive. ]

[And he's just going to stare again for a moment. He could understand not knowing what a turtle is, but somehow not knowing a zombie just seemed wrong.]

You don't have the living dead on Krypton either, huh?

[ They don't have African Tribespeople on Krypton, or the idea of raising the dead with magic. They're a very scientifically based culture. But her eyes go wide, obviously the phrase has some meaning to her. ]

[Apparently Krypton doesn't have science fiction either? Santo isn't noticing the recognition, though. He's... Not exactly the most observant guy in the world.]

You're probably lucky, I guess. [Even if that sounds a bit boring.] You don't have to worry about your brains being eaten, probably.

[ Science fiction, yes. 'Zombies', no. But now she's really confused, because she's never heard of anything eating brains. ]

They eat brains?

Yep... Well, and the rest of people too, but brains are like the classic, old school horror zombie food. I have no idea why.

What about vampires, then?

The word isn't familiar. What are they?

They're like these pale guys that drink people's blood.

We have plenty of scary things. They're just different from the scary things you have.

Yeah? What qualifies as scary on Krypton? Because, I mean, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm pretty bad ass, and don't have a reason to be afraid of zombies or vampires. [Though, he's still totally afraid of vampires.]

There's the Worldkillers, and clones. [ She isn't sure anyone has a reason to be afraid of zombies, they sound like any old carnivore. Worldkillers, those are real! ]

Worldkillers? Okay, that sounds kind of like a big deal.

What's wrong with clones, though?

They're incredibly strong and cruel. [ She says that with confidence, having run into a few. Even though they aren't supposed to exist. ]

Cloning is illegal on Krypton because the clones are genetically unstable, and when they start to decay they turn violently insane. There was a rebellion several years ago that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

[Santo just stares for a moment.]

But not all of them, right? I mean, I know some clones, and they're kind of catty, but I'm pretty sure that's just because of who they were cloned from.

All of them. Things were fine for years, then suddenly... [ Hundreds of thousands. ]

... Sorry. Was cloning a big thing back then?
