[There's a strong sound of static on this broadcast. Perhaps it's from all the salt. Still, a voice gets through. It's the voice of a young girl and it sounds skeptical and just a tad put-out.]

Hello?

...I was told there are people on the other side of this, but I have looked and there was no one there.

If there are people where I cannot see, then I am looking for my friend. His name is Ico.

[There's a pause, filled only by static before she speaks again.]

Ico is my friend. When I had given up, he helped me get free. When he was hurt and couldn't move, I helped him. If he came here as well, I would like to find him.

...Ico is... [There's hesitation here.] ...He is human, but was born with horns. He is good and kind, quick and strong. And very brave. His clothes are red and his skin, hair and eyes are dark.

I wish I could explain the science behind it, but I can assure you that we ARE all real if you would like to find a way to test it by meeting somewhere?

Ah, good. I had wondered if you meant that state of...being present, but not in the room. It CAN be difficult to work with.

I didn't know what they meant by the other side. I tried to see first, and it was strange that I could not for I see many things. But here I needed ears and not eyes.

I was rather confused when I arrived and learned of these things myself. It seems so amazingly unreal. There are also screens which allow you to see the person on the other end of a conversation. That was odd at first too. Extremely so. I wondered if small people were trapped inside it at first, myself.

I have seen those also. Strange light running through, like storms but given to path and purpose.

The buttons were worrisome. They showed me instead something simpler.

Ah I do know what you mean. I think I nearly took mine apart at first, before my friend came in and found me.

To the best of my updated knowledge, the radio signals are not transmitting video.

If you require a visual aid to your means of communication, you would be better off seeking the public network consoles, although the probability of privacy is significantly lower.

[The last part was spoken with the slightest hesitation. And softening of her tone. Aya knew all too well what it felt like to arrive here alone. Without a single familiar face from home. And even the ones that were still weren't.]

We both have reasons to stay away from cities, in the place we are from.

Anything that would have made them dangerous never existed here, and where it did exist, it is dead now.

[Or as close as anything like her mother could get to being dead.]

I am worried that if Ico has come here, he would have hidden himself, not knowing it is another star, and the shape of the people's fear is not a child with horns or the darkness that gave birth to that curse.

If he is here, then I recommend you allow him some time to similarly adjust to your new surroundings. Though contacting the general public was also an excellent suggestion. I can be on watch for anyone bearing the name Ico, as I am certain others will for your sake.
