Radio; 001
[There's a strong sound of static on this broadcast. Perhaps it's from all the salt. Still, a voice gets through. It's the voice of a young girl and it sounds skeptical and just a tad put-out.]
Hello?
...I was told there are people on the other side of this, but I have looked and there was no one there.
If there are people where I cannot see, then I am looking for my friend. His name is Ico.
[There's a pause, filled only by static before she speaks again.]
I am Yorda.

I am Yorda.
Radio:
[Enjolras pitches his voice to be warm and welcoming, keeping in mind how strange he found this development too.]
I wish I could explain the science behind it, but I can assure you that we ARE all real if you would like to find a way to test it by meeting somewhere?
Radio:
You are real, but somewhere else.

Radio:
I didn't know what they meant by the other side. I tried to see first, and it was strange that I could not for I see many things. But here I needed ears and not eyes.
Radio:
Radio:
The buttons were worrisome. They showed me instead something simpler.
Radio:
[Enjolras has gotten used to people speaking in metaphor, if not, after having spent time with River a while ago, but if not, he's also sort of used to the idea that people literally see things differently too, and he's sort of curious if this is the case here, and how that works.]
Ah I do know what you mean. I think I nearly took mine apart at first, before my friend came in and found me.
Radio:
[She literally sees things differently.]
You didn't get in trouble for trying to open it?
Radio:
And no, no I did not. He laughed in fact, and no one here has been upset with me for looking into things.
Radio:
They really do not get angry if you wish to know things?
Radio:
Radio:
I am glad it is not the same here. I would like to know what things people do, for I think I would very much like to do them as well.
Radio:
[And how like things where he came from, where knowledge was denied to so many people. Enjolras feels his gut clench with anger at that thought.]
I promise you it certainly is not. And I will do whatever it is I can to help you with that goal. Learning things is where everything starts, after all.
Radio:
I want to learn everything. There are... things in my head. Memories. Some not mine, but they only give me questions.
Radio:
You want to learn everything? Oh, Etienne would have LOVED to have met you. What a goal that is. I think it can be done. Well, memories may be harder to sort, perhaps.
Radio:
...Important... yes.
There are many secrets. I would know what was kept from me.
And that is everything. The beginning, the convergence, and the darkness birthed from folly. I would know these too.
Where can I go to learn?
Radio:
Secrets, hmm? Those are going to be harder to learn of, I expect, if only because I am not sure if anyone who knows them, from your world, might be here to share the answers. But others...I think others can be had and there are many people who can tell you many things.
Those things you mention, do you mean them in relation to our Island now? Because I can share a small bit of what I've learnt about them, and know of a few good books to look through, otherwise...it may help to ask if anyone from your world is about.
Radio:
But I do not know. I dreamed many things when I passed through stone and shadow and death.
I do not know if anyone is from my world. Ico is not here, but there could be many, many reasons for that.
Radio:
Have you? I passed through death myself, on the way here. The waking up again was completely strange and disorienting.
I suppose the best way to go about it would be to ask. Or perhaps they may find you here, in time.
Radio:
[She says the next bit rather sullenly.]
Much was kept from me - I know little beyond the place I was kept. And all that inhabited that place would be reviled. I can say only so much without risking death.
Radio:
[There's a hint of a gentler tone than before, and, though she cannot see him, Enjolras has quite forgotten and smiles gently.]
What I meant to say was that you ought to keep asking, and looking, every so often. It is surprising, those who may turn up here. I keep my own eyes out myself, though I think I won't see some of my friends again on this island.
[But, reminds a voice in Enjolras's head, he probably won't be here forever. Eventually, he'll end up going home for good, and that means leaving his earthly life behind, considering he's but a soul in Keelaiai as it is. It will mean seeing the others again and joining them on whatever journey lies beyond the bonds of Earth. It can't be something he minds too terribly much, considering that, and it is not something he'll speak much of now.
Instead,he's got a lot to focus on right now.]
Still. I've been surprised before, as many people have. It all seems to depend on whim and chances more than anything else, now. And people sometimes tend to arrive in groups from other worlds. Well, single arrivals but there seem to be patterns of arrival, if that makes sense?
Much was kept from us here at first too. It made me so angry and frustrated, as though I could do nothing to help. I cannot imagine how you must feel with all of that. Though, it IS safe here, to speak of what you wish, as you feel comfortable too. I can promise that things you've left behind that are bad are not so likely to follow you, and, if they were to, they would have less power over you now.
Radio:
I am glad you are able speak freely. And I hope you find your friends.
