[The welcome centre had, indeed, been welcoming. Which was a pretty good thing, considering Adrien had bust in very confused and very worried. Plagg was more exhausted than Adrien had ever seen him, and it took a lot of convincing that Hawk Moth hadn't just straight up kidnapped him. But he'd been calmed and informed. He still wasn't exactly happy. He needed to be back home. With Ladybug. They were not supposed to be apart. Still. For now, he decided to play along. Not much else he could do.

So a fifteen year old boy will appear on the feed, offering a polite smile and a small wave.]

Um. Hello. I'm Adrien. I'm new here... obviously. I'm still trying to get used to the whole turtle thing. I mean. This is a whole lot different to Paris. Less honeymooners, that's for sure.

[He gives a small, nervous laugh. He has no idea what he's doing. For the first time in his life, he's free without the mask. There's no staff waiting to whisk him away to whatever his father had planned for him that day. There's no schedule. He has to do this on his own and it's as terrifying as it is liberating.]

I guess I need to find a place to live? Does anyone have any idea where the best place to be is? I would be very grateful.

[He startles, as if something has kicked him in the ribs, which; hidden under his shirt, has absolutely happened.]

OW!- I mean oh!. And cheese. Is there a good place for cheese here? Thank you.

There's a place called the Midnight Hotel that people can go to while they get on their feet.

I... have no idea about the cheese, though.

[The brief thought that maybe cheese won't be something obtainable here crosses his mind, and he inwardly winces. Plagg is hard enough to live with as is, without cheese? Wow. ]

I'm sure I'll find some somewhere. I'm pretty sure I saw a cow when I arrived?

...Or I think it was a cow. It had feathers.

I don't know what it's like across the pond in Paris, but cows don't have feathers.

That's good. I've never stayed in one before, so I have no real experience to judge it against.

[He chuckles, shaking his head. ]

We don't really have cows in Paris. Big city and all. But they definitely don't have feathers in the farms.Maybe it's a special sort of cow that lives here?

...Or not-a-cow. I'd imagine it has an actual name.

Camembert is the best. But any cheese'll do really.

[He'll just keep on smiling, hoping the guy doesn't question the WHYS about the cheese thing. His ability to lie convincingly is pretty well, but there's no way he can make it sound anything but weird.]

[God, he hopes the owner isn't some crazy axe murder or something. They wouldn't put an axe murderer in charge of a hotel, would they? Nino talked about that super old film once, he's pretty sure there was an axe murderer in charge of a hotel there. But that wouldn't happen in real life, would it?

Wrong? Goodness, no. He's self-righteous, his magic is notoriously difficult to control, and he has no sense of fashion that does not involve the color black, but those are all simply personal failings. As a hotel-owner, he has few faults.

[This is not by any stretch of the imagination a compliment.]

[She's somewhat skeptical about the latter, but lets it slide for now.]

Do be careful. I've heard they can liquefy if they're upset.

I haven't, no. I grew up too far south. The Midi-Pyrénées region, not far from the Ocean.

Even when I left my village...our travels took us too far East.

The Midnight Hotel seems to be the most common waypoint for new arrivals to the city, before they find more permanent housing.

As for cheese, there are several vendors in the city who will be able to accommodate you, i believe. I cannot comment as to the quality of their product.

That place got a lot of recommendations, I think that's the best place for me to head.

It is where I am currently staying as well, though not as a formal tenant. The proprieter is an agreeable individual, ass long as you have the resources to pay for your room. It may be required of you to seek employment to pay for your accommodations.
