[Thomas takes a moment to click on his video feed, then goes about finishing his setup. He's managed to finally fashion himself a meager outfit, reminiscent of his previous suit.]

Hm...I guess it isn't bad, for something thrown together. The fabrics here are pretty nice.

[He finishes rolling up and packing a few supplies, then sets out an array of blades. Throwing knives, a large hunting knife, and a set of newly crafted cat claws. Light weapons he can keep right on his body.]

Well, this took some work to get. I certainly hope it's worth it.

[When he's satisfied, he finally comes up to the screen.]

Okay, I'm going to head out there. See what I can find. Anybody got important, last minute information?

So why are you going out there in the first place? I heard there's nothing on the mainland.

Boredom, mainly. Just very restless.

So, you want to go out and fight whatever is out there? Because I mean, there's probably stuff you can fight here too, right?

Yeah, but there's a purpose to it. Only way to really find out what those things are weak against, is to take one down and take it apart. Flay the flesh, find where the tendons connects, look for softer spots, things like that.

Dude... [That's kind of gross.] That's kind of extreme, don't you think? If there's nothing else on the mainland, we probably wouldn't have to deal with them... And how many things can't be stopped just by punching them? [The answer is zero.]

We're not all made of living rock, Santo. Weaker people need an advantage, if those things are going to be troublesome every time we go to the mainland.

But there's nothing on the mainland I thought. What's the point of even going out there in the first place?

If you want. I'll warn you, your powers are going to get less useful, the more we go out. That's the reports, at least. Me, I've never had powers to begin with.

How so? I mean, my powers can't exactly be taken away... They're seriously who I am, and I don't just mean that in the weh weh I'm nothing if I'm average sense.

In that case, I can't guarantee what might happened to you. If you're literally made of animate rock, you might become inanimate rock.

I'm not actually made out of living rock. That'd be gross, man. I'm... I don't know how it's explained, but I'm like psychic.

Actually, it'd be very cool. No need to eat, drink, or breath. Very advantageous.

I don't need to do those things anyway, but it's not really as fun as you'd think.

Not the first time I've come close to death. In my experience, sometimes you have to chance it. I'm sure people have their own goals to achieve, without an old crook like me slowing them down.

I intend to take one along. Might need to make a field report, possibly request assistance if I find something good.

[He's been watching Blake's every move since his arrival.

Well, that's an exaggeration, but not by much. He's recorded every unencrypted conversation for analysis, done his level best to scope out where the man lives, and you can be damn sure he's done viable threat assessments.

And this? It's not so much a declaration of war nor an admission of promised hostility, but Bruce still doesn't like it. It's as if Blake is... showing off for some purpose. Intimidation?

For all that Blake doesn't register as an outright villain any more, the man's still plenty dangerous.

Which is exactly why Bruce is at one of the console cafés, done up as Devin Craig. Grey hair, glasses, subtle changes to his physiognomy and not to mention the slight stubble of someone constantly too busy with other things to shave. His accent, when he speaks, is flawless British. Faint but aristocratic.]

What exactly are you hoping to find?
