Hello, everyone! My name's Sheena Fujibayashi. I just arrived here in the city a couple of weeks ago and am looking for a job.

My experience is kind of varied, but first and foremost, I'm a ninja. But, I also have experience in owning and operating a Tea House, a Noodle Restaurant, and a Dojo.

No. This isn't the first time I've been brought to a whole other world. It is the first time I was brought to a turtle, though.

[This is...worryingly new. ]

You've been taken to another world before this? I didn't even know what was possible.

[ She can relate to the worryingly part. Because well... "Home" would be a good place to go to. ]

Yeah. [ She chuckles. ] Before that happened, I had no idea I could go to another world without some sort of machine. And now it's happened again.

[ She sighs and shakes her head. ]

You don't have to apologize! I mean, I am missing home, and have for a long time, but the memories of my friends keep me connected to it. [ There's another reason, too, but she has no idea if things work the same here. If time is frozen back on their world until they return. ]

That's some...real bad luck, though. What was the other place like? Was it anything like Tu Vishan?

[Hard to match a giant floating turtle, really. At her comment, a soft smile crosses his face.]

Qui, you're right. So long as we remember the people we love, we're never really that far from them.

That is an understatement. But, compared to that place, Tu Vishan is a paradise and relatively normal.

[ She'll give him some details, but not a lot, if he wants. No one should have to hear about Atia. ]

"Qui"? What language is that? [ It sounds familiar, but she can't place it.

She gives him a smile. ] Spoken like someone who's used to doing that himself. Am I right?

Oh, I'm sorry you had to deal with that, then. I can understand why you wouldn't want to talk about it.

[He'll be a gentleman and not push about it. ]

French. That's where I'm from...France, I mean. [A pause, because not everyone is from the same planet, geez, Agreste. ] It's a country on Earth.

I do the best I can.

[ She appreciates that. Although... ]

I'm glad I get to remember those friendships, too.

[ Considering some she doubted she'd ever see again. ]

One of those friends spoke French! And there was a French restaurant we went to! [ She's happy to find something familiar. ] I never did quite get to try to make too many French dishes, though.

[ Her smile softens. ]

That's all anyone can ask, right?

[He chuckles softly at that. ]

Really? That's kinda neat. If you ever get a chance, I recommend trying Pot-au-feu, it's pretty simple from what I hear and it's really delicious. Especially in the winter.

Very true. Anyway, if there's anuthing you want to know about Keeliai, I'll help how I can. I've been living here for a few months now, so I have a good lay of the land.

Yeah, people from all over were there--different worlds, different times. Sometimes friends from home would be there, sometimes people who had been there came back. Some remembered, while some didn't. [ She had been one of the latter ones. ]

Yep! And uh, I will. On one condition. What is Pot-au-feu? [ Thanks to her being around someone who spoke the language, her pronunciation is fairly close when she repeats the word. ] Sounds like it has to do with potatoes. [ Okay, she can say the word...she just can't translate. ]

You do? [ She looks around to make sure a certain someone hasn't suddenly appeared before speaking. ] Can you tell me the best place to go shopping for food is? I'm dying to cook something.

Sounds a lot like here, then. I didn't even think other worlds like this were possible. Maybe there's even more kidnapping worlds out there.

[That's not a comforting thought. Still, he's impressed with her pronunciation, much better than the endless stream of tourists who come to Paris. ]

Basically? It's fancy beef stew. Just beef and root vegetables. No potatoes, really. More...celery and carrots, things like that.

I'd recommend the marketplaces here. You have to haggle, and be careful the vendors don't take a fancy to any jewellery you have they'll try to barter for instead. But the freshest food comes through there. If you're after fish the best place is the water district, though.

Well.. I can honestly say, this is the first place where a city was on the back of a turtle. The other place I was in was a huge island.

And there probably are other worlds like these. I mean, there's two we know of.

Ironically, her pronunciation is the result of having to put up with someone she hadn't liked who constantly spoke the language. So, cup half full? ]

Beef stew? Oh, I've made that! But with this, I don't use potatoes? [ She's mentally cataloging this. ] Root vegetables, huh? Like beets and rutabagas, too?

Oooh. Haggling. I haven't done that for a long time. It's kind of fun! But I promise to be careful. [ The only jewelry she has is her soul-gem right now, anyway. And she hopes no one will want that. ] Do you know what kind of fish they have in the water district?

[ She's planning a menu for dinner at Raine's as she speaks. ]

Id' say the turtle thing is pretty unique. Hard to beat as worlds go.

[That is the least comforting thought ever.

I guess, if you really wanted to? Work to the flavours you like best, I always say.

[Luckily, the soul gems seem to be off limits to everyone. Something they should all be endlessly thankful for. ]

Not earth fish, that's to be sure. They're unique to this area. But still pretty tasty all the same.

I won't argue its uniqueness, that's for sure.

Hopefully, there are other worlds more in league with this one. Not the whole "being on a turtle" thing, but how normal it is. Where people can just live.

She laughs softly. ]

Yeah, that's a given. But, some of the fish where I had been before weren't any that I was familiar with, so i know what you mean. They taste a lot like them though, right?

Oh- [He's not convinced that would be great, but he'll be polite about it. ] That sounds...pretty unique??

Pretty much. Nothing's all that different with them, that I've noticed. Still edible, anyway.

[ Her eyes narrow humorously. Polite or not, she heard that lack of conviction, Adrian. ]

I'm guessing you've never had it? You should try it! The pineapple adds a sweetness and cuts the spicy part down.

[ Forget sweet n sour; Sheena's got sweet n spicy. ]

That's good. I wouldn't want to give someone a bad surprise when I make them dinner.

[ And no, pineapple in curry isn't a bad surprise. ]

I honestly haven't. But I might have to try it now.

Nah, there's not much you can do with the fish that would be weird.

Well, they're sort of... alive, still. So when you try to eat them some of them might escape? It's...a little creepy.

Sounds like you also might need a lot of alcohol to go with them.

I don't know about that, I'm too young for alcohol myself. But I guess it might help?

Yeah, that can be a problem. Maybe if they're cooked in alcohol instead? You get the flavor but none of the side effects.

[ But knowing her luck, the little buggers would get drunk. ]

[They are tiny teenagers of course they would.]

Hm. Maybe. I've had wine in food before now.

[ She had been referring to the prunes, but it works both ways. ]
