Is a non-working vacation too much to ask for? I mean, come on. One day off. After what happened last week I deserve that.

[A dark-haired teenage boy is scowling unhappily into the camera. He sighs heavily and drags a hand through his hair. Somehow it always ended up like this.]

Okay, so let me just get this straight.The giant turtle is actually a thing? Someone isn't just pulling a really elaborate joke on me?

[He sighs.]

Yeah, never mind. Don't even bother answering that. I think I already know the answer.

Could this possibly get any weirder? [He freezes and moans miserably.] ...Oh, great. I think I just jinxed myself.

[The only hard part about that request was naming just one. So she settled for something fairly tame.]

Ever seen somebody fly? And I don't mean in an airplane.

Some might consider that weird. For us, it's not as uncommon as you might think. There's a bunch of us that can, and let me tell you, the races we've had are awesome.

[...Actually that sounded like a lot of fun. He'd never had time to just race, because all the other people who could fly were also trying to beat up and/or destroy him. But it wasn't like he could just admit that he was a ghost who could fly. He still didn't know if there were any ghost hunters or scientists around here.]

Uh, just the ghosts?

Just how many people here can fly?

[That...was a good question, actually. One to which she could only shrug.]

I never really stopped to count.

But it's definitely not just ghosts. In fact, the only dead person I ever knew that could fly didn't even fly so much as he let the wind carry him everywhere. Still fun. Just...not so graceful.

Seriously? That many? Do you all have wings or something? [Because he was guessing no one here flew like ghosts did. ]

[And, for show, she got up and stepped back just enough to twirl around once. Giving him a pretty decent few of her back. No wings.]

He wasn't really a ghost. More like...a spirit. But he was pretty solid for a spirit. Just a little on the cold side.

[A little. He was a solid block of ice in teenaged boy form.]

Nah, but I've never met humans who could fly before. You know, without a hoverboard of something.

What's the difference between a ghost and a spirit?

[Because that explanation really didn't help, considering Danny's recent ice core incident. ]

Well...from my experience, a spirit is still on this plane of existence, and a lot more solid, while ghosts kind of linger between one or another. And they're usually either transparent or you can't really touch them.

I mean, maybe it's different where you're from, but that's how I distinguish between them.

[Danny wonders if by that definition he should be calling himself a spirit here. ]

Um, well most of the ghosts back home can kind of pick how solid they want to be.

[That was up to him; she wasn't really one to squabble over semantics unless it was spell-relevant.]

Lucky for them. That sounds like it would come in handy.
