Is a non-working vacation too much to ask for? I mean, come on. One day off. After what happened last week I deserve that.

[A dark-haired teenage boy is scowling unhappily into the camera. He sighs heavily and drags a hand through his hair. Somehow it always ended up like this.]

Okay, so let me just get this straight.The giant turtle is actually a thing? Someone isn't just pulling a really elaborate joke on me?

[He sighs.]

Yeah, never mind. Don't even bother answering that. I think I already know the answer.

Could this possibly get any weirder? [He freezes and moans miserably.] ...Oh, great. I think I just jinxed myself.

True but there are better way to spend the eternity than causing trouble, don't you think? They could try to help instead.

Yeah, I wouldn't really expect that from most of the ghosts that showed up back home.

[He knew some in the Ghost Zone who would, but it was usually only the trouble makers who came to the human world. ]

I live in Amity Park. We get more ghost attacks than anywhere else in the world.

And you know why that happens? Did a lot of people die in that city in the past?

No, nothing like that. [Danny shrugs.]

My parents opened a permanent portal to the alternate dimension where ghost live.

In our basement.

And let's just say Dad's not the greatest at remembering to actually close the door.

Plus, once the ghosts knew where the town was? Well, some of them are good at finding natural portals.

[Poe's eyebrows shot up because wow, that sure is a story to remember.]

How did your parents manage to accomplish that...? And there's no way to close the portals?

Because they're inventors? And ghost scientists?

I don't think they've actually tried.

Ghost scientists...that explains a lot.

[Not really but, scientist. Poe knows better than to try and make sense of them.]

If they are putting people in danger maybe it's worth giving it a thought.

[Danny shakes his head. ]

I've thought about it before, but at this point it wouldn't do much of anything. The ghosts know where the town is, and there are plenty of other ways to get into the human world. Closing it would just mean that we didn't have a way to send ghosts back to the zone.

Ah, fair point. Becoming a ghost and being in the zone is what happens to all the people who dies in your world or it's supposed to be unusual?

[Curious pilot is curious, sorry.]

No clue. [Danny tried to avoid thinking about questions like that, to be honest. He was fine with thinking about ghosts as ghosts, without worrying about where they came from. ]

But pretty sure it doesn't happen to everyone.

[See, Poe was also fine with thinking about Troopers as the enemy and nothing else and then he met Finn.]

Let's hope so. I can't possibly imagine how being a ghost must be like,. Probably boring.

[It wasn't that Danny didn't want to think about ghosts as having been people. They were. He knew that better than anyone, considering the way most scientists back home thought ghosts were things not even capable of feeling pain.

But... as long as he just thought about ghosts as ghosts, and not actually dead people, then he could keep thinking of himself as being half-ghost instead of half-dead.

Maybe it was the same thing in the end, and maybe it was lying to himself a little bit. If Jazz ever found out, she'd probably call it unhealthy avoidance behavior and try to get him to talk about his feelings or some such junk.

[Depressing and worrisome and if Poe knew he wouldn't judge Dani for not feeling like talking about it. But he has no idea and what he gets from the reply is that he might have upset the kid.]

Well ehm...I don't think we have ghost in the city, so there's that. So far I haven't meet any ghost scientist either but I am more used to talking with mechanics and pilots.

We don't have many of those here either, unfortunately.
